Funny http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif , i saw an interview with an german u-boat crew lately and they said that they very often encounter dolphins at sea.

They somehow love u-boats and entire dolphin familys travel for days or even weeks with them.

They also trying to speak with the u-boat using their sonar based communication. Maybe they think subs are something like whales. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The sonar men discribed the strange "klick klack" sounds they make like they are trying to ask something and await an answer from the sub.

He also described the spooky sound of thousands of crabs marching on the bottom of the sea. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

No mine fields or sub nets...... shame on you.

Might as well play with "no destroyer depth charges" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/354.gif

That mod only removes them from friendly ports...not enemy ports.

You know it could be that they were just talking to each other. If you think they talk to you but not each other I think you have got a major problem with your ego. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I guess the shape of the U-boat (slender with deep draft) would be similar to a whale, but that would be one big whale.
It is fairly common for dolphins to ride the bowwave of ships, it is after all a free ride for the animal.

It just goes to say that adding a little bit of mother nature has in fact increased the games realism http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif - When I first played the game and left port seeing and hearing the seagulls I thought that was pretty cool and an excellent addition when you were near land!

They were part of the original game but they were unfinished. One of the modders found the files and finished them in IUB.

they only need the ability t shoot seagulls with AA guns and roast them for the crew's

when u r in the tropic oceans there should be shark fins in the vater around sinking ships

Dolphins and Whales (especially Killer Whales) are some of the smartest marine animals of the ocean. With brains as large as humans, it is no wonder.

Now, all SHIII needs is a Giant Squid mod. That would be scary, deep in the middle of the atlantic, and its just you and a giant monster.

I watched a documentary this evening about the Battle of the Atlantic. One fellow on the show was talking about his time on watch duty aboard a merchant vessel, watching for scope and torpedo wakes. He mentioned that occasionally he would see porpoises, but they scared the life out of him because they resembled torpedoes in the water.
