not sure if anyone has tried this, but off line you can speed the game up or slow it down.

I play at 2X, and i get a better sensation of speed, especially when i dive out of the clouds at 500mph (1000kph) and i'm flying 50m anove the ground.

I know the measurements are probably correct, but it just doesn't seem like 500mph, when i have it on normal speed.

The bad thing is it speeds up everything else, so if you go into a spin, its twice as fast, and you lose energy faster. but if your board try it out, and you might pracrice at that speed so when you get online, it will feel like slow motion.

I've done the same thing. Speeding up the game teaches you to use a light hand on the controls. You lose that tendency to slam the joystick to one side or the other and gives you a better sense of how to control the aircraft at normal speed.

I have often used this in QMB when I just didn't feel like waiting, but this is the first time I have heard of using it "full time" on 2x.

I don't use it full time. I only use it some times to speed up to get to the target. As I said, it does help teach you to use a light touch.
