Hello http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Can someone tell me if airframe stresses have been modelled in the game in any way shape or form ?.

I ask because it appears wings are easier to fold/come off after scoreing hits in a turnfight, but I am not sure if the reason is entirely due to damage inflicted, or a combination of damage and loadings ?.

Thanks in advance.

To be honest, I could not tell you either way in IL-2/FB.

I don't recall damaging my own plane in a high-G turn. With regard to turning planes, I'm not sure if that is due to the airframe being under G, or if you generally have more target area (assuming you are not dead astern from the target) when a plane is turning, making hits to the wings more frequent.

Ironically this was one thing that the lamentable CFS-3 did (at least try) to model... you could certainly cause airframe strain by pulling too tight a turn for too long.

I don't know if anyone else knows about this in FB?

"As weaponry, both were good, but in far different ways from each other. In a nutshell, I describe it this way: if the FW 190 was a sabre, the 109 was a florett, or foil, like that used in the precision art of fencing." - Gunther Rall
