Hi! I'm getting low FPS (20-25) with AC, mostly when it's crowded. My system specs are: AMD X2 4000, 2 GB 667, GeForce 8600GT OC, 169.21 forceware and Windows XP SP2 (DirecX 9.0c). I'm playing it in a 1024 x 768 res, with almost all graphic settings at low... any tip? Or is just pointless with my actual gpu? Any forceware change recomendation? Thanks.

I'm afraid to say your video card is fairly slow. The 8600's weren't designed for intensive gaming, and AC is just that.

I'm sorry to say that without a hardware upgrade, you won't be getting fps much higher than what you're experiencing right now.

If you want furthering trouble shooting please pust us a DxDiag and we can go more in depth into what may be causing this problem.

install the dual core optimiser and drivers from AMD.com as they are known to fix speed problems on AMD systems with XP. also remove the over clocking on your graphics card as it is also a common cause of problems.

I doint think it's because the 8600 series is low end.. my 8600M GT in my laptop can handle this at max settings 800 x 500 40~fps (laptop screen is small so no need for higher resolutions).

I'm sure it's been made pretty clear by myself and others that the 8600gt is hardly made for gaming. Also since he isn't running on a laptop, I doubt he'd be running at 800 x 500.
To be honest I'm somewhat surprised at how your laptop is handling the game, even with the slowed down version of an already slow card.

I think when he included 1024 x 768 with all low settings, it could be assumed that was as low as he intended to go for fps sake.

Hope the dual core optimizer download helps a bit, some people see a drastic increase in fps.

tokyo the 8600 is a low card but it is still more powerfull than alot of the low end cards people are running the game with. if you look here (http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_family.html) it isnt actualy that far from the power of the 9600.
