Also couldn't find a photo of the B-17... but this may be an account of the Miss America.

The Blue Hen Chick in the upper left-hand corner of picture, leading the 709th Squadron
on May 5, 1945, over Stowmarket, England. Other planes are 44-8783 X, 43-38768 B,
42-31225 C, 43-38230 E, 43-37795 H, and 42-97976 D. Again, notice the
B-17s with dark colored rudders indicating previous damage most likely from FLAK.
A Bit O' Lace's "42-9796 D" rudder was severely damaged on April 4, 1945.

Hmmm. My quick google search found it was the 301st, not the 447th:
Tail number: 43-38492, Type: B-17G-90-BO, Name: VENUS RAMEY
(http://301bg.com/353BS_Aircraft.cfm

Although a noseart pic may exist on the web, google doesn't have it indexed under anything meaningful. Wiki had the following, though...

SithSpeeder... Nice find.

I was looking for the name "Miss America" for the B-17 and not "Venus Ramey".

Found two with the Miss America name... but one was shot down.

The one carrying her name... was said to have made it through the war with no crew member casualties??

I can't believe she hasn't been put in jail yet. The intruder obviously needed her property more than she did. People like her are evil.

Looks like the nose art was on a B-24 of the 454BG. It flew 133 missions.

Also...

http://website.lineone.net/~roling46/Bombers/B29-1a.JPG
Miss America '62" was a combat veteran that flew from the island of Tinian during the war with the 6th Bombardment Group, 24th Bombardment Squadron. The original crew members chose to name their bomber "Miss America '62" because all were married and 1962 would be the earliest that one of their daughters could be entered into the famous beauty contest.
