Just installed the newest (I think) Nvidia driver (275.33). Now, when running 1280x960x32 screen resoultion, I get the black borders. Fiddled with the conf.ini settings to no avail. If I reset the conf.ini to 1680x1050x32, I get a full screen, but Il-2 seems to run slower.

Does anyone have a solution for this? Thanks.

When installing a new Nvidia driver it will default to "Nvidia scaling with fixed aspect ratio " to fix the problem go to your Nvidia control panel and under resolutions select "My display built in scaling"

I had the same problem some time back after installing a updated graphic driver, and the above solved the problem. Cheers. JM.

Thank you so much. I would never have suspected this was the issue. With my Nvidia control panel, I found the scaling (whatever that is) options under Display-Adjust desktop size and postion-Scaling. The options were "Aspect ratio" (which was ticked off), "Full-screen" and "No scalinig". Full-screen did the trick.
