Yes he is survive the war.
Because he was math teacher in middle hign school during WW2.
He took serviced before ww2 around 1936.

What may interest some of you is that the Yamato and Musashi were completley unknown in the west (allied powers) before they were engaged in combat, there is not even a partial entry for them in any Jane's Fight Ships before 1944-45.
