Hey guys,

Im just wondering what are the essential keys to map on my joy....I have a THRUSTMASTER T FLIGHT X stick....

Any tips would be appreciated....

I have these on my Cyborg Evo:

Guns 1+2
Trim down/up
Centre View
Rockets
Bombs
Prop Pitch Up/down

Good starting point, I also keep flaps as an essential on my joystick, often when employing combat flaps in a dogfight you don't have time to reach for the keyboard.

Yea you're right 100% i just dont have the buttons on my joystick for that. The annoying thing is i have 2 unused buttons on the right side of the base simply because i cant reach over and use them (crossing arms during flying is asking for trouble) and i cant exactly take my hand off the stick and push them buttons, so there's 2 buttons i have no use for that i could have used for flaps!!

Where to map keys and controls is a very common question. The Newbie's Guide to IL2 Joystick Setup may not suit your tastes but it will at least let you look at some function maps:
