Your Box top looks like this right?

If so its going to take a bit to get some players rounded up.

Most of us are playing a merged version including these Box tops

The Original patches can be had from here

ftp://ftp.ubisoft.com/games/il2sturmovik/patches/

or

http://www.3dgamers.com/games/il2sturmovik/downloads/

The patches may seem big and they are but you get new aircraft etc the ones you need are ( SEE)

ok If you intend to but the later versions to play online with the most Games you really need all 3, as that is what 99% of the players use, and you will get a heck of a lot of new planes and bombers plus carriers etc..........

Now the Fogotten Battles disk shown above and the AEP expansion Disc add on also shown Above can be bought as a GOLD PACK Ie all 3 discs are in one box, you would then need to add Pacific fighters to get the full merged game, these can be bought of EBay these days or indeed as a budget line quite cheaply.the AEP disk is the rarity and is quite hard to source these days....

Now saying that, there is a rumoured , well more than rumoured, Platinum pack in the wings, pardon the PUN, that will give all 3 of the above in one go http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Also If you were to buy Pacific Fighters on its own, you would get most of the Aircraft but not the European maps etc and you can run that on its own, but as said online it would be limited as to the amounts of players using it compared to the merged version....... at a point when you get the goldpack you could then do a merged install as well and have both versions on your PC, something a lot of people have done in the past......... Pacific Fighters will give you carriers etc http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif oh and there are a couple of patches for that too......... just get them the right eway round and remember patches with an M after them are for the merged version of the above 3 and without for the standalone version.

your IP address is the address for your PC, it is abit like a house number and allows someone to join your game or you join theirs.....DO NOT PUBLISH IT IN THE FORUM BUT PM him it, ( private messaging)
you can do private messaging from the go selection at the top of this thread

I have checked for you, there are at the time of writing this 18 people playing the original IL2 online so you might get a game yet http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
