I put it into an online German to English translator...and it came back with "Yes indeed Mr. Kaleun"! I am willing to bet this isn't an exact translation! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

It means pretty much Yes Captain

Jawohl is a word that has diffrent meanings like yes or you are right all depends to what question or answer it is used.

Why the Germans called the Skippers of a U Boat Kaleun is a question I have pondered myself for many years and I'm German . Just never came around to asking anybody .

It's a short form (easier to say) of "Kapit√¬§nleutnant" (try saying that in full every time the captain asks you a question - you'll understand why they use "kaleun") http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Kaleun= short for Kapitšnleutnant (Captain-Lieutenant)

Jawohl, Herr Kaleun = Yes captain, basically. Herr basically meaning sir or mister, shows respect.

Well, some SH3 guys use the Ubi search function to get into it and then decide to make their very first post something relevant.

Welcome aboard, needmorediesel. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

... and some find an answer late - but time is relative...

I love the user name, "Need more diesel." I think if I was signing up today, I'd go with, "Need more money!" Well, that's what my wife seems to be saying to me these days.
