Hi everyone, I am pleased to announce that Mission Mate for 1946 is now available from
mission4today.com (http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=8)

This release of Mission Mate is exclusive to mission4today.com.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jim for the continued friendship and support for the Mission Mate project over the years and to say that it is sites like M4T that keep this fantastic flight sim community alive.

Cheers, CrazySchmidt. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

New In This Version (2.7):
This version updates plane listings for the IL-2 1946 DVD release. In addition to this there are 4 new maps (5 depending on how you look at it). Ardennes (Summer and Winter), Kyushu, New Guinea and Okinawa.

New Feature

Double Variable Airbase Occupation:
3 of the new maps (Kyushu, New Guinea and Okinawa) incorporate a new feature that allows the user to change which army may occupy each base at any time. To switch from one army to another just hold the mouse pointer over the airbase icon and scroll the mouse wheel, this will toggle between red and blue armies for that base. This means it is possible to have both bases occupied by the same army at one time, this however then requires the existence of carrier points on the map so the opposing army has a landing and takeoff point.
NOTE: Because it is possible to have both bases occupied by the same army, Mission Mate uses a proximity calculation when setting airbase and vehicle attack scenarios, this means that the target closest to the attack point will take the focus of the attack.

Finally, Japanese vehicle listings have been added to vehicle attack scenarios.

The installation is independant to any of the previous intstallations so it doesn't matter, it's up to you. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I hope you enjoy it.

Excellent work.Help file that would shame many multi billion software companies!!!
I had a slight delay in getting going hearing about which might help others .As I run 1280x1024 I use 120dpi font size.I didnt notice that you have to tick a box on setup to select 120dpi support files to get the mission maps to appear.Brilliant utility (seems too simple a term to describe so powerful a tool)

One question: can one move the bases/airports on the maps to different locations ala drag/drop or such?

thanks!

What about the help file... would a newcomer still have to download the help file from 2.4?

Sorry no, the airbase locations are fixed. With many of the pacific maps however, you may toggle the army between red and blue by holding the mouse pointer over the base icon and scrolling the mouse wheel.

With the new pacific maps with this new release (Kyushu, New Guinea and Okinawa) it is possible to have both bases occupied by the same army. By using a combination of "shift" + scroll wheel and "ctrl" + scroll wheel you may toggle takeoff and landing points independently between bases.

This installation comes with the help file (although I have just realised that I have missed some of the new info off and will have to update tonight).

It was a mistake omitting the help file from the last release and is not something I will do again.

I hope you're all enjoying it so far.

Guys, I just want to say thankyou very much for taking the time to post your gratitude. This makes up a very large component of the fuel that keeps me and similar developers/artists going with our projects.

I am very pleased that you are enjoying it as much as I have had fun developing it.

While I have the stage and the microphone, I would like to shift focus onto the Airwarfare and M4T networks, these are both the brain child of Gamekeeper AKA EuroSnoopy. This is the guy that I want to say http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif to!! If these sites weren't alive, neither would this thread be. Simple and true.

I concur.... often we take things like this for granted... but CFS Pilots/Mudmovers/AW.C has been a mainstay in the sim community for years. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

My sincere thanks to Crazyshmidt and all the people that helped with this project. ITS GREAT!!! Like many others I fly offline and for me this is the perfect addition to the program .

UD... you are clearly a gentleman, but you're not supposed to bump my update posts, otherwise we will end up in some weird gentlemanly circular reference that will cause some dreaded UBI error. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I know you're a busy fella with real life stuff, but we really should talk about some possible joint project at some stage.. maybe .. possibly...?

I know you're as curious as I am about what could be produced from joining skills and resources, so lets look at those draft blue prints again, what do ya say?

Cheers mate, CS. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hi Dagnabit,

Thanks for posting your thanks and making me aware that MM works in the unexplored territory also (Vista home Premium) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif It's always nice to read nice posts from people like myself that are strictly offline players.

Cheers, CrazySchmidt. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
