Nice link Woofiedog. SE Qld had a lot of WW2 airfields and is quite full of history. I saw a documentary on Eagle Farm a while back....very interesting. The first Zeke that was captured intact also flew from here.

My Grandmother is full of stories about home life during the war.

Do you remember who put out the Documentary about Eagle Farm?

Nah mate, I'm sorry but the documentary was on a tape a friend of mine loaned me...this was some time ago.

My Grandmother would be a hard one to get on tape...I would have to record her without her knowledge....(illegal in some parts of the world), but a really good idea none the less. She likes to recall the Battle of Brisbane where some Aussie and American troops got into a scrap with each other and how she helped organise dances for the troops.
And the big storage depot near her house..

Thing is that Eagle Farm is not far away from her house and she probably saw them flying these things out of there.
