Ok, so I was flying in QMB, with a 262,after shooting everyone down , (including a team mate, by mistake), I observed a strange move of my airplane, some kind of loop.
So I started another mission, and at about 1500m I swiched on no-cockpit, and baild out in a middle of a loop.
Here comes the strange part...
the Me262 keept flying, but how?....he continued making loops and what is more strange he kept gaining altitude until about 8500m, and it stayed there until the engines stopped(probably no fuel) I used almost full realism (except cokpit always on and externals so I can notice what is happening).
Seriously the engines were overheated, but nothing happened, he never entered a spin!!!
This I think it sounds strange!
I wonder, was that posible in real life?

Theroretically it COULD happen... not sure if it did tho...

Whenever you bail or die, the plane controls freeze. That's why you see planes going down after pilot kills, with guns blazing, until they crash sometimes.

Planes at this point will just keep doing the last thing they were doing until they crash.

RE: Was it like that in real life???

The simple answer is no.

And you couldn't jump through the aircraft when you bailed out either./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I think it is possible... There are stories known where something similar happens. If the airplane is still airborne and hasn't sufferd any major damage, sure.

This happened in real-life. It is not a nice story but, these things happen. It happened with a learjet. The learjet is an executive jet and can cruise at 50.000 feet and so it did in this case. they where flying above the united states, and on a northerly course. When the traffic leader on the ground called the learjet to change course, they did not respond. Repeated instructions where ignored and even a pair of F-16's where send to intercept the renegade learjet. The pilots of the F-16's had a close look if there was any damage visible on the aircraft that might influence comm's. This wasn;t the case but, when they came in real close, they could see that everyone in the plane was... dead... The learjet also changed altitude all the time. Going downwards when it lost speed and upwards again when it gained speed.

One of the F-16's stayed with the plane till it ran out of fuel and it crashed somewhere in Canada, doing no harm to civilization. It was later determined that something in the airco-system had failed and thus, killing everyone inside...

A perfectly trimmed plane would continue to fly straight and level until it runs out of fuel. In the real world, there is no such thing as perfect trim, so the plane would always descend/ascend and turn. This is, if you'd jump while flying straight and level, that is. In a combat situation you're probably at an odd attitude, not in a steady state, and not at all well trimmed. There's little reason for the plane to spin or go into an uncontrolled flight path, but it's very very unlikely for it to continue as you described. Unlikely, but not impossible.

Bail out in a loop and try land back inside the plane /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif it is posible /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

i believe your talking about that pro golfers lear. in that instance the autopilot was on. im not sure if the ntsb reports are out on that one but i do know the f-16 pilots said the windows were frosted over. when it hit the ground there wasnt much left for them to inspect.

That was the story indeed. sorry that i made a few things up but, I didn't remember all the details.
