So, many Audigy users have sound problems, something like:

"I have a continual ticking noise at all times. Sounds a bit like a scratch on an old record.
It has only occured since the upgrade"

I have the same, but only with Polikarpov I-16 engines, others are OK. Strange clicks (very high tone), regulary, when I fly RATA (I love this plane :-). I like sounds after patch, but this is very irritating.
I have tried many solutions (in DirectX settings, in FB sound settings - don't work)

I've never have sound problems with other games, but IL2 is
my game of choice, so please, do something with next patch or add-on.

Sorry about my english.

I think about Audigy, not Audigy 2

Well, the basic design is pretty much the same.

I used to have an Audigy and I didn't have any problems with that one either.

EDIT: The only time I ever heard the ticking sound was with the SB Live on a friends pc, I told him to uncheck the audio enhancements and hardware acceleration and the sound was fine after that.

Stary,
Have you tried setting to highest quality sound in the il2setup? I think the setting is "Full (slowest)" . I have onboard Soundstorm sound chip and found that if I went to lower quality sound, it actually slowed FB down and sounded awful..go figure..:-^

I found that balanced gave the best sound/fps performance, with 8 channels. Fast indeed gave most of the problems, Full seemed to have a significant impact on FPS (10%).
