I think luthier is almost done with that project. You have more luck reading 3d max tutorials on the net, also cfs2 and 3 forums have some pretty good tutorial on plane building. il2center just explains the process part naming lods damage models etc but people there dont seem to help others out much.

Luthier is currently in the works with the Ki-84 Hayate.

I know you don't want to hear this, but please, if you're going to 3d model something, keep it on the Eastern Front! That is, if you're working on a plane for IL2FB. I know modelling is a LOT of work, and I'm in no place to tell you what or how to do it, but I feel that Japanese airplanes (I'm assuming that the plane ya'll are talking about here is Japanese... don't know that one) are really outta place, regardless of how cool they are, or fun to fly. That's just my two cents.

i don't agree...

it is his work, for his pleasure... he do whatever he want... the only restriction is about the year the plane did fly, it must be a ww2 plane...

but beside that, any modeler should ne free to work on whatever project he want...

go ahead man, work on ki61 hien...

Hey, you can't call the shots if you aren't the one signing the checks! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

But I hope there's lots of focus on the planes for the Med.

I know Gibbage is working on a P-38.

ok ok I know some of you want this to be an easternfront game and thats just great. I personaly would love a med theater more, but that said. I woudnt have a chance competeing with all of the others that want to model the eastern front planes, they are almost all already being done, and it is quite a short list of planes that arnt being modeled.

my reasons for wanting to model of the ki 61 are.

1. its rich history and the mystery surrounding this plane at the time of its release in the war.

2. it is a beautiful aircraft that i feel conbines the strength and raw form over function german design, with the smooth sweaping curves found in asian design and artwork.

3. this is a simulation we fly this game to do what we cant do in real life, and right now no one can fly a ki-61 hein. as far as I know there was only one surviveing flyable swallow and that was just retired.

so this is not ment to be a "stop it and let me do what i want post" and this is not directed at anyone person.

this thread is not ment for a debate if you dont agree with my reasons for wanting to model this plane, thats fine, but please you dont have to post here. what I was asking for is help and advice from a community that i have respect for.

lately its been like the lord of the flys around here. frankly ive been afraid to post here lest the sharks eat me.

thanks a ton for any help, Iam new to modeling but very serious about it!

You're absolutely right, and I apologize. Best of luck with whatever you put your mind to.
