This should be MUCH MUCH easier than the first one. Another interesting tidbit from the war.

What is it? Where is it?

It's problem is obvious.

It's obviously a NASA craft that warped through time, and landed on earth so long ago that it petrified.

It be a very large caliber tripulated artillery shell. Used to inconspicously plant very brave spies behind the enemy lines.

Not looking like anything that's explosive..
It has an accessable chamber..
It's on a beach..

A messenger mortar from WW1 - mortar/shell with a message (Yes! Har Har http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif ) in it. Or a quick way of delivering something small of critical importance.

Looks like an anti-tank pimple, or maybe a bomb proof shelter, but why the cavity below? Maybe it's some kind of mine from a beach defence. Beats me, looks sandy so you'd think it's part of a beach defence, but knowing Waldo it'll be a surveyors cap on the top of some Andean mountain.

Is it a one man pillbox mybe Japanese?I read somewhere that during the Vietnam war, that in Hanoi there were large concrete water pipe section sunk into the city sidewalks so that in the event of an American air raid a single person would drop inside pull the lid down and wait for the all clear, there were thousands to be found all over the city.

I believe that is snow, not sand.

And the fir trees also indicate snow.

item seems to be made of concrete.

Could be snow, could be sand, might be a heath like Luneberg or that bit around Hohne near Celle.

Hitler's sad attempt to escape out of Berlin. Sadly there wasn't enough time for experiments to learn how much propellent was needed to propel the "Flying Bunker Escape Module" to Argentina. The SS officer who was reponsible for aiming was in fact dyslexic and poor Adolf found himself admist a Mayday parade in the middle of Red Square Moscow. He was then promptly ticketed for illeagal parking. the rest is history!

Very funny replies. I knew I could count on you guys for a laugh.

I told you it was an easy one. By my count many got close enough that I would say that they got it. If you said bunker, one man, etc etc etc you got it.

Megile: Gets to keep his $50. It is sand.

Hoenire: Gets it virtually entirely correct. That is indeed what it is.

Here is the caption that accompanied the picture.

"Leba is a seaside resort and 'Klein Peenemunde', the former Luftwaffe exprimental station, is now open to the public. Remains of an assembly hall, and observation post and a command station can still be seen ans a small museum has been opened in the latter building. In the dunes to the west of the compound, Krzysztof Rogala took this picture of an abanodoned shelter for a sentry."

Essentially it is a one man version of this much larger one
