Hi,

I've heard that Group Captain Tom Dalton-Morgans biography is being launched later this month, although I cant find any reference to it on the tinternet machine.

It will surely be a must-read for anyone with an interest in the Battle Of Britain.

If the name means nothing to you, heres his obituary from 2004 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/20.../09/24/ixportal.html (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2004/09/24/db2402.xml&sSheet=/portal/2004/09/24/ixportal.html)

I heard the biog is entitled 'Tommy Leader'.

As ever, a good post Hanglands http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

This extract from your link caused me some amusement... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

<He quickly established himself as a fearless leader. On July 12, he shared in the destruction of a Heinkel bomber; but he was forced to bale out the following day when he destroyed another and then was hit by crossfire. With no badges of rank in evidence - he was wearing pyjamas under his flying suit - he was "captured" by a bobby who placed him in the cells along with the German bomber crew he had just shot down>.

Oh to be a fly on the wall when he shared that cell !

Best Regards,
MB_Avro.

Hi,

Yes, thanks for that Billy, I havent come accross that site before.

Me and a mate have just comeback from the Dambuster/Tirpitz signing at Aces High this morning, while we were there I picked up a leaflet about the launch of Tommy Leader. Its going to be launched at Duxford on the 20th May. In attendance will be Dee Dalton-Morgan (Toms widow), also A/Cdre Peter Brothers, Wg Cdr Bob Foster, Flt Sgt John Keatings, Wg Cdr Terence Kane, Flt Lt Richard Jones, and Flt Lt Keith Lawrence. Robert Taylor will also be there.

You have to get your names on a list for it though, best phone the gallery on 01296 625681.

I understand that those attending will be doing a signing too.

I just went to that Aero Collectibles site and ordered two of the Dalton-Morgan photos (NOT both for me), I hope to get Dee to sign mine too.

Regards.

Unfortunately Pete Brothers couldnt make it due to ill health, but it doesnt sound like anything too terrible. I wish him a speedy recovery.

And heres the print I started that day. Nice big borders = lots of signings to come http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
