Ok - Need some help!

Once an engine is shut down and feathered is it possible to re-start it (HE-111)? If so what is the procedure? I can do it on the ground but it will not re-start inflight?? I asume I am not doing it right!

Thanks

If you are reffering to I-16 and I-153, they are fixed in the patch. You will be able to restart the motor inflight.

I haven't tried the He-111, but it will proabbly be able to as well.

OOOpps - Forgot to list that I was flying a HE-111, It will not restart inflight but will on the ground. Is this a bug in the game software as well??

I think there was an exploit in IL2 where you could negate overheating by turning the engine off and then back on rapidly. The no midair restart was a stopgap measure to prevent this. I could be wrong, this is only hearsay.

its possible to restart some engines in-flight. make sure you have the correct one selected when you press "i". i'm not sure if it will do anything when both engines are selected.

I have never tried to restart multi-engined planes so this is just a guess. You might have to turn on the magnetos. Also you might have to unfeather the props as well as starting them individually

Here is how you do it..

First put your other engine at 100 or 110% power and switch over to the second engine, place the power at or about 20-50% power and have the prop fully engauged at 100% prop pitch, then with the mix at 100% you need to point your nose down and let the prop spin until the prop looks like it is on, then Hit the ignition key and if it doesn't light the first time, keep tring about two or three more times until the engine lights.

If the engine does not light due to damage or you dont have the engine already spinning at proper speed, then ajust and try again, I've relighted an engine of an He-111H-6 with 100% fuel load and 4xSc-500s before at only 500 meters..
