Just thought I'd bring this up. One change I REALLY want to see is to not have "enter" as the "fire torpedo" button. So I was enroute my first partol, which is still on going, and when all is quite... phizooommmm! There goes one of my torpedos! All I really wanted to do was increase time compression but the enter is so close to the plus on the numeric keypad, and if you're not looking this mistake could easily be made! Good thing I only wasted one! I've been saving them for when I get in my patrol box. Which is taking a long time, I'm almost a week out and not there yet. I left from Kiel and am heading to BE96. I'll be almost at 50% fuel by the time I get there!!

Is there maybe a way to disable the "enter" key from firing? Thanks! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I do the same thing trying to hit the shift key.

I possibly you can change it in one of the .cfg files but I haven't looked.

I agree

Or atleast have a Master Arm switch like in airplanes.

Me too. Done it twice in 6 patrols, which doesn't sound like much, but it's annoying when it happens.. especially if you're lining up your target. Nice stealthy approach and then suddenly a stray torp heads into the middle of the convoy.. like 'whoo hoo.. I'm here!!'

LOL http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif.....I've wasted many a torpedo just putting the rudder amidship. This is a real problem when in the heat of evading destroyers you suddenly launch a torpedo http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif that's not locked on to anything. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Go to ...\SilentHunterIII\data\Cfg\ and open the Commands_en.cfg or the Commands_de.cfg,
depending on what language you use (or do it with both files) with notepad.exe

Search for the following section:

[Cmd313]
Name=Fire_torpedo
Ctxt=1
Key0=0x0D,,"Enter"

and delete the last line (Key0=0x0D,,"Enter").
Save the file - problem fixed. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I have another tip:

As we have now no function on the Enter-key, we schould use it for an
important function - reset Time compression to 1x !

After we removed this line: Key0=0x0D,,"Enter"

we put it under this section:

[Cmd6]
Name=Time_compr_normal
Ctxt=1,2,6,9

So it now looks like:
[Cmd6]
Name=Time_compr_normal
Ctxt=1,2,6,9
Key0=0x0D,,"Enter"

When you are in tc now and hit the Enter-Key it will set back to 1x http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
