Hey all. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm trying to do the very first mission and I'm having problems. I wasn't aware of it, but apparently my men got fatigued while on the voyage to the patrol area. I put people in the quarters to let them rest, but now I'm feeling like I'm just sitting in the F7 screen waiting for my next crewman to become tired. The game only gets to where I can advance x32 in the crew screen and my sub barely moves on the F5 screen before I need to substitute crew.

I realize life on a sub can be pretty boring, but I am just wondering if I'm doing something very wrong. I have only seen one boat on the radar during my patrol and I apparently couldn't catch up with it.

Sorry for the questions. The link for "guides" doesn't seem to work for me.

Are you running stock SH3 with the 1.4 patch? If you don't have the patch you can download it from this site. I recommend downloading the SH3 Commander Mod as you can set the crew fatigue to zero so they don't fatigue. If not, you will need to watch for when they need to be moved to the crew quarters. Also, when you run at higher time compression, the fatigue stops. You should also consider reading the Community Manual as most questions can be answered there. For anyone out here that is more knowlegeable than I with this advice, please let Lyfisin know.

Thanks for the quick replies. The notepad fix sounds like what I'm looking for.

I'm running the 1.4 patch which I downloaded directly from UBIsoft just after installing the game. I had actually already found the Community Manual, but didn't think about looking there for this.

I opened the file and do i have to DELETE the values or add zeroes or put zeroes instead of the original numbers?
i.e. this what it says in file (unaltered)
;comp0 tower
RegularFactor00=0.001
SpecificFactor00=0.01
BadWeather0=0.02

this is the first line so do i have to put something like this
RegularFactor00=0
instead of:
RegularFactor00=0.001

and you can turn fatigue off in sh3 cmmdr.
right? so that option is actually there so you dont have to do extra stuff to get it to work?

Yes you can! There is a folder GXWCfg4SH3Cdr which includes the necessary CFg files for SH3 Cdr 2.6, it came from the mirror I got my GWX from, sorry I can't remember which source, though.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

bf2player2006,

I replaced any digit with a 0 and mine works fine. I did not replace any digit where the number started with a negative sign. So if there was a

-0.01 for instance, I did not replace the one. The community manual has a great example. After doing this, I'm having a great time.

Normally, the most senior enlisted man or most junior officer of the boat will set a crew "watchbill". The crew knows when they're on and off duty, and when to relieve the watch at certain times of the day/night.

But a Commanding Officer creating and maintaining a watchbill is an unnecessary and downright grotesque form of micro-management that I have ever seen.

Let's just hope the SHIV eliminates the tediousness of telling grown men to brush their teeth and go to bed.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/agreepost.gif, absolutely, I've often wondered why when you click on the IWO, you can't select him to manage crew rotation etc.
I'm so tired of wussy crew, that I too turned off the fatigue. Way too unrealistic<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
