I edited the kill messages in the netmessage file to give a more "realistic" feel to the game. In retrospect you can edit the messages with whatever you wish but I found the Flak + Shell = BOOM to be pretty unrealistic after such detail was put into the game.

If you wish just copy the netmessage file in the IL2 folder\i18n and save it to a temp folder somewhere safe.

Then go back into the il2\i18n folder and reopen the netmessage with notepad. Highlight copy this text below and copy it. then go and highlight the original text then click paste the new text in place.. that it... Enjoy

...and people wonder why we are so much fun....

We in the 401 have been doing this for a while it causes NO problems at all. Feel free to edit text as you wish. It will only be viewable to you or any other person that might have this saved on thier machine as well.

At the start of WW2 the German army lacked experienced anti-aircraft gunners. The average gunner was so bad that the USSR decided to help them out. They did it by forcing some of their pilots to fly I-153 flak magnets. These planes were slow but very sturdy. This allowed German anti-aircraft gunners to get a large amount of target practice on a relatively small number of planes. Thanks to the Soviets help, by the end of the war the German anti-aircraft gunners were amoung the best in the world.</center>

Yes this is useless.

Dosn't mean anything until they add the feature in the game where the host's messages get downloaded with the mission. About .1% of online players will ever download this stuff to their FB folder.

I have changed some of these as well. its nice to be able to change some of the spelling errors in the game, like it always says controls are unsuable instead of unusable. wish there was a way for the other messages like engine and fuel tank fires to show up, is there a way to get these to display?
