I learned something through this video for bombing , i thought the bombs needed a 0 seconds delay to affect ships , i always used to dive-bomb the ships as a consequence , but i see that your bombs have 2-3 seconds delay in your tracks and it's still efficient against ships , interesting . But it should do less damage though since it explodes underwater http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Bomb delay 0s or more (10s) make same damage on a ship, there is no "underwater problem" !! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Its just enable you not to be blown by explosion ...

Because you can record all your track online in .ntrk format in a full switch server , then when you replay it offline , you change the settings and allow external views , you are then able to make a video out of it with Fraps or any other program http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Just meant that when you throw a bomb at a given speed 20-40 meters in front of the ship , it will take a few seconds before it reaches the hull of the ship and explodes , but during that time , the bomb will take some depth in the water .

Whereas when you dive bomb on SBD , you can aim critical spots in the ship and probably make more damage cause it doesn't explode with water around to limit the damage , but again it's not a theory , it was just a detail of my post with no pretention whatsoever , just an idea of mine actually and perhaps mistaken , so i could be wrong of course .

Actually, a delay in the bomb will allow it to penetrate the hull and explode internally, rather than on the armor side... or, should it fall under the ship the explosion would create a "bubble" of energy that actually does more damage than the explosion itself.
Such is the way depth charges work .. not to necessarily actually hit on the sub, but to explode near enough that the pressure wave will corrupt the integrity of the hull, and thus cause damage.

So far as the video ... much better, but I still dislike the naming of the pilots.

When do we see the Kz video of you all getting smoked by those same pilots ?
Until then ... this is just an exercise in egoism, and not really worthy of comment.

You need a perfect angle to do so , and a rather weak hull for the bomb to penetrate , you won't do that on a carrier , and by the way most of the time you will experience "dud" , from the middle to the end of the war , dive-bombing was more and more used not only because of the AAA , but also because it was more effective .

Think that you need a 1 ton of explosive torpedo to damage a mere 6-7000 tons Cargo , you need more than a small 500kg bomb launched by a plane to damage a warship hull in my opinion .

It's true that if it explodes just under the keel , it makes a lot of damage , but you need an unbelievable amount of luck to do this when you release the bomb from a plane , submarines used to do that with magnetic ignited torpedoes .

About depth charge , they are far more effective when launched by a plane on a surfaced submarine .... but were indeed intended to break the hull with pressure underwater .

Poker, that is somewhat true in RL, but not in game where the armor is simply not modelled (if it was, we'd not see so much skip-bombing vs warsips that have belt armor since it would be ineffective).

In RL, it was indeed largely to allow the plane dropping the bomb to get away. The 5th AF determined instantaneous fuzes were just as effective against the targets they skip bombed (merchants, and subchasers). The delay was to prevent them from going off on impact with the WATER, not from imact with the hull. They started by trying true skip bombing attacks---the idea was for the bomb to strike the ship-, then sink under the ship and blow up breaking the keel from OUTSIDE. Later, they used "mast-height" attacks where the bombs were skipped right into the hull, the very very thin hulls of merchants providing do real resistance to the bomb.

As an aside, skip bombing is WAY overused in PF. The US strafers should use it, and that's about it. Instead we see the Vbs skip bombing, it's even suggested on the briefing in ZvW, which is unfortunate since skip bombing, particularly with fighters, is trivially easy.

Also important, is the mission builders turn the flak way down.

If you tried to skip bomb a carrier on RoF 1.0, you'd probably be dead long before you got close enough. No one dive bombs or level bombs, because they just don't have to.

Nice video, but I so wish you wouldn't put names on them. Totally unneeded and tasteless.

True , it might offend some people to put the names and thus people watch it differently .

I agree with you. For the next one names will be present but for another reason (, you ll be happy to the see names (you'll understand watching at it), and so we will !!

For next next next video ... May be a big video on pacific fights, more like a little movie (no clip with music only) more realistic showing hard fights in historic conditions may be.... we dont know for now ....

I think we'll do that for the futur short movie (10 min) but for "CLIP" with music its not really easy to show long fights, because the video need rythm in a short time.

The next one will be short, may be 3 min but it will be FUNNY !! OMG !! lol
