Did anyone make it to the Milwaukee air expo this last weekend? Not to much in the way of warbirds, but a good show none the less. I got some pictures I can post up here when I get home from work tonight, it was my first time using a digital camera so they aren't the best. I got some good shots of the blue angels, and lots of stunt planes. The only warbirds were a P51 and a C-47. One nice display was by a group of some sort of radial engine Yaks, not sure the exact model though maybe my pictures will help someone figure it out.

First thing we saw was a quick flyby from some T-38s

Then a pretty low flyby from a Marine HMH-461

The gooneybird made a couple passes but never got really close to where I was sitting.

The Yaks put on a really good show, it was kinda funny I heard a lot of people calling them zeros, I had to laugh at that. https://mywebspace.wisc.edu/bdresch/web/Red%20Baron%201.jpg?uniq=xflwww https://mywebspace.wisc.edu/bdresch/web/Red%20Baron%202.jpg?uniq=xflwx1

The red baron pizza team put on a good show too, lots of snap rolls, stalls, and spins.

The A-10 did a lot of mock gun runs and really showed off its maneuverability.

Before the F-16 came out I could see a guy in a F-16 flight suit and a camera. We were right on the shore of lake Michigan and the show was happening right over the water, but he was looking back towards Milwaukee. So I started watching that direction and all of a sudden out of nowhere the F-16 comes blasting right over us with his burner lit. He really layed it out and was pulling some pretty impressive maneuvers. This was the first time I've seen one up close and I was impressed.

The formation with the jets and the P-51 really put their size into perspective. The cool thing was with the jets running at such low throttle you could still feel the Merlin as they flew overhead.

There were three separate aerobatics demonstrations. I couldn't believe what those little planes could do. Maybe some of you aerobatics guys in here can tell me what its called or how they make their planes tumble in forward flips at the top of a climb.

The Blue Angels finished off the show. They were amazing. I thought the F-16 was cool, but the Blue Angels were really impressive. On one pass after the main group of 4 finished doing some maneuvers and the sky was empty, the other two snuck in from two separate directions and scared the **** out of everyone. They were running real low and must have held off the throttle until they were right on top of us because no one saw or heard them coming, awesome! One of the last things the two trailing planes did was come across the crowd pulling max AoA in formation with eachother. Then as they reached the end of the show area, one pulled verticle from that slow speed and just climbed real slow with full burner on.
Initially I wasn't going to go because of the lack of warbirds, but if any of you has a chance to see a military display team jump on it, they put on an incredible show!

interesting photos, even on dial up. Keep this up and youll have to get you a zoom lens of at least 300mm. i especially liked the HH-53E wiht the old F-105 thud tanks. thats a good shot.

Ive attended countless airshows with my cameras, and its always hilarious to listen to the populace make incredibly stupid remarks about aircraft.

What day did you go?
I went on Saturday.
First time seeing the Blue Angels. Live that is.I've seen them so much on TV that none of it was really "new".
Good time any way.
There is going to be another one at the lake in August http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I was there Sunday. **** it was hot, since I wasn't going to the beach or anything I didn't think of using sunscreen. I will be paying for that all week. Do you have any details about the one in August? I hadn't heard about that one.

Yes,

good weekend of stuff. No pics here, I was busy working on the house, but I am close enough that I pretty much only had to look up. 8^) The view from my top porch was excellent. The a10's were flying low enough to make the windows shake.

I don't have anything now but if you go to Airshows.org and do a search they have the info there.
