And not just "20mm" or something, since it seems to me that different nation's 20s are different in terms of power.

For me, late war maps it would have to be the Brit 20mm or the Japanese 20mm, both of them in airframes with four of them (tempest and N1K)

early war, whatever 20mm it is on the IAR 81C

MG151/20 for me - gives me a good mix of ROF, destruction-power and reliability.

X-4, X52 Pro's second hat put to good use, fun.

4x30mm Mk108. The 4x20mm on the Beaufighter and Mosquito are great too.

The rockets on the I-153, set a 1-1.5 second delay and try to frag some fighters, rockets kills FTW!

really? for some reason I have terrible luck with ANY russian cannon. 20s, 37, 45, it doesn't matter, either I can't hit, or if I do hit, it doesn't do any real damage.

+1

although it's fun to vapourize enemies with a well placed MK108 burst from a late war Bf109.

Also love the fast-firing Hispanos on the Tempest Mk.V

But overall, just gotta love those MG151/20s http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Nothing is more fun than destroying a bomber with a pair of rs-82 rockets.

Wait, scratch that.

Nothing is more fun than destroying a bomber with a pair of tiny tims.

Kewl, I have never tried that. I'm gonna go crank up an F4U1D right-now with some tinies and go bomber huntin. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif I think I'll make it a PE-8 with a 5000k bomb in it.

It's not easy. I was able to blow up a bomber on the very-first shot with the Tiny Tims. After that extremley lucky shot I tried again twenty or twenty five times with all-misses.
I could never hit the gah-darn thang again!
It's hard allright. Whew. Forget it. I'll just go back to my 4 20MM guns. anx.

It might be interesting to speculate what the P-38 would have been like with the originally planned 23mm Madsen cannon (50 rounds)

Hanglands used mistel to down 17 bombers (out of formation of 60 or so) with it! He escaped the blast with his Fw190! Pity his site is no longer up...

The MK213 and MG213 on the Hornisse...You know, the latest stuff (with the extreme high rates of fire) that the Luftwaffe was going to use near the end of the war. If you haven't tried them, check it out http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
You can even use the telescopic sight

I would opt for dropping paratroopers from a glider in front of the oncoming aircraft.

I made the mistake once of shooting up a Ju-88 with those HUGE SC....1600s? Whatever the largest one they carry is. Not only did one go RIGHT through my wing, but then the 2 second delay got me right after that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
