For those of us stuck at the office, whoever has the game minus hardware issues.

Let us know if it was worth the hype and what is good and bad about it.

Thanks

Hype? What hype? I would think any hype about it would have been nixed by the console versions. How much hype can there be over 2 new mission types?

I believe he meant the previous hype that still (should have) lived on in the souls of those that haven't experienced it yet, the computer gamers.

Anyway... I'm also interested in seeing the difference in opinions, for we all know that AC on the consoles was a very mixed bag.

I think the reviews for the PC version will be more consistent.

I'm a PC Gamer but caved and bought it for the 360 cause I couldn't wait anymore. If I had waited for PC I would have found out my computer was too 'outdated' to run it anyway (these crazy high-spec requirements). But, I got a new computer recently that is the best of the best for the current time so I'm past that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Gonna go pick up the PC version on the way home from work. I basically just want it for screenshots, videos, etc. Will be fun to play it again with a few new side 'missions' though too I suppose.

But, my original statement was more to the effect of: "PC gamers would have seen how the 'hype' was if they looked to see how the console versions did (which, anyone interested in the game enough to have been hyped would do)."

But yeah. Oh, and, *waves* http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

okay i got the pc version yesterday and got to memory block 3 already. Great game, what you'd expect from the console version. And about bugs, i havnt encountered any. im running it maxed out with no problems http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. So i dont know what review you'd want. all i can say its just like the console version.

yup. its just like the console version everything that was great or bad about the console version is still here.
no bugs on my game either.
the control is super comfterable (IMO) and graphics are awsome (on my x1900xt512mb, 2gb ram, and q6600 playing on 1440X900).
the game is repetitive, shallow and fun http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
if u wanna know more about the game check the reviews on gametrailers.com or gamevideos.com. they show the good and bad parts.

Just bought it for the PC from Direct to Drive. Graphics are awsome but the speech doesn't work so the game play is **** because you don't know what is going on in the game without the speech. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Hi folks,

I just got my PC version, so heres my review on: WinXP sp 2/C2Duo E6600/GF 8600GT 512MB/2GB DDR2, using a keyboard & mouse.

Disc installed with no issues, except, when you first run it.. it runs a security check which looks like Starforce but its not.. phew.

The 1st thing you notice in the tutorial is the brick hard but not unlearnable controls. There is sometimes 2 or 3 buttons to press at once to execute an action, especially in fights.

With the controls is the cam, which when your fighting/panicing as you scream at the computer coz you didnt hit all 3 buttons at once, tends to be bad in a corner, so dont get yourself pinned in by guards.. basically, if you die, its usually your own fault for not learning the controls, however, this can get frustrating quickly.

Graphics are awesome, but no big leap from console, apart from higher res and SLIGHTLY improved textures in certain places, so why the high specs, i dont know,

Also, a mystery but even in fullscreen mode, the entire game is played in a letterbox ratio, from menus to ingame, and I havent found a way to play full 4:3 yet.

So far, I havent found any bugs apart from setting your Audio in windows and DirectX to Basic software mode, but thats no bug really, its just Vista no longer supports Hardware accelerated Audio, so thats probably why theyve done that.

Was it worth the hype?. Well, yes and no. It can get repetitive and slow, but If you wanted more control and interaction in Thief Deadly Shadows, youll love this, but if your a die hard C&C, DoW or Crysis fan, you may find AC slow & tedious.

AC is a game of patience, trial and error(especially at the start), stealth, long missions, timing and open-ended freedom, if you go around waving your sword and killing everyone, you wont last long.

Personnally I love this game, UBI have done a great job, the M & K controls can be tough at first, but its so open-ended theres no rush to learn it fast.

My advice; Create a mock profile, learn the controls, kill everyone in sight and LEARN the game. Then re-start a proper one.

8/10 for a great game, but the learning curve is steep, which may turn some more action orientated folk away, even though its open-ended, plus theres no reason for the specs to be so high, so i cant give it 10.

Btw, If someone is using a gamepad, feel free to add the control review.

Hope that helps
