I saw in one mission I was flying in the brief before it the mention of p-38s being used in the mission. I was wondering the true use if any the russians had for the P-38. Did they fly it in combat or was it just the Americans? As one of my favorite aircraft I wonder if it could be incorperated into the eastern front in this game. I know someone here knows this info and hope maybe in the future I may see this plane at least in the fighter bomber role.

I dont think the Russians used the P-38, but the USAF flew them over Hungary.

Ye Jacobites by name, lend an ear, give an ear!
Ye Jacobites by name, lend an ear,
Ye Jacobites by name,
Your fautes I will proclaim,
Your doctrines I maun blame, you shall hear!

What is Right, and what is Wrang, by the law?
What is Right, and what is Wrang?
A short sword and a lang,
A weak arm and a strang, for to draw!
3. What makes heroic strife, famed afar, famed afar?
What makes heroic strife famed afar?
What makes heroic strife ?
To whet th' assassin's knife,
Or hunt a Parent's life, wi' bluidy war?
4. Then let your schemes alone, in the State, in the State!
Then let your schemes alone, in the State!
Then let your schemes alone,
Adore the rising sun,
And leave a man undone, to his fate!

Are you sure it wasn't a p-39?

Yeah, it was probably a P-39. Given the dynamic nature of FB, you probably would have seen that plane doing it's job.

Wow, I really look good on your six. Mind if I stay there?

it seems contoversial some people saying a few went some say none

for a fascinating complete list of everything that went to russia under lend lease (unfortunately not detailing aircraft by designation) see

yeah I dont think the 38 was lend lease, from what i have read, they had there hands on two, one that was ditched. They fixed it up ditched one and just painted the white star red, cant recall about the other, think it was the photo recon varient. There is a great lende lease book that I picked up that covers them all pretty well and the 38 came down to a total of two I think.

That's why I hope the Oleg will take us to the Med and North Africa. It would be something to fly the Forked-Tailed Devil.

Well since it's been developed by Gib for FB you're in luck. He's almost done with the model.
