One of the neat things about the NYGM Tonnage War mod is the extra radio traffic you receive. I'm guessing they are accurate (and often schizophrenic early on) messages sent to U-boats during the course of the war.

On my first patrol in U-46 after starting a new career, I received the following:

Consternation and thoughts of court martial ran through this Kaleun's mind because of:

I had actually found a task force in the open ocean far from any port and was (for once) in the perfect position to ambush it. Good thing the messages are only eye-candy. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I'm sure BdU will still be pleased with however many ships of all kinds you sink. Including those capital ships the Fuhrer doesn't want you to sink. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I got a good laugh at receiving that message only 3 hours after I ambushed the task force. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

A day after this attack, I intercepted a 13 ship convoy completely unescorted in grid BE-64 of all places (totally open ocean). I did what any self respecting Kaleun would do. I massacred it with eels and gunfire. 13 ships went to visit Davy Jones. It's been a great first patrol for this career! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

Am I the only one reminded of that line in 'Return of the Jedi'?

"The Emperor has something special in mind. We've only need to keep them from escaping."

Well, we all know how that ended, right?

I like the idea of addition radio traffic though--I've only got Grey Wolves and SHCommander installed, so my radio traffic is mostly limited to U-Boats running out of torpedoes or fuels, or a public-service announcement for a Milk Cow (which I still haven't visisted yet).

I run GW, and have only recently been getting 'morse code' sounds when receiving radio messages. They are all historically based eye candy, but the morse sounds make it even more fun<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

You can judge the character of a man by the condition of those around him.

This is a career to make me smile. Second patrol, second carrier down, stalking second convoy so far. I would love to keep getting sent to BE61. Hope this doesn't bode ill for the furture. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Don't forget, with SH3 Cmdr, you can specify what grid you want.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
