Where's the rockets!?!

Are those rails just for show or balence or something? Or are they to carry rockets?

The il-2T designates Torpedoes. The torpedoes probably wieghed a lot so to save as much weight as possible rocket were not used. you will also notice that the cannons are omitted from this model. The torpedo version of the il-2 were most likely to be modified version of the normal il-2.

Why not stip the rocket rails then?

I don't want rocket/torpedo combination, I want rockets available as a seperate loadout. 4xRS-82, 4xRS-132, 4xBRS-82, or 4xBRS-132 should be the options.

Then just fly the IL2M. The IL2T is just a modification of the standard Sturmovik.

ummmh ..

given that you are not in the Soviet navy and stuck with the IL2T as your only choice

why not just choose a differeent iL2 that does have rockets?

But does that change the fact that the IL-2T is in fact missing something?

Here is the bit where you produce something to back up that statement.

A report from an IL2T unit that "today we carry rockets on our not-redundant rails, instead of a torpedo, to attack a fascist bow-tie factory" or "it was a well known fact that IL2Ts always carried rockets as well as torpedoes".

Then we're all in a better position to consider the statement that something is missing.

Well, the description in the IL-2 website would seem to agree with me.

Atleast one website seems to think it had cannons [prolly wrong]

And what about IL-2's and the DAG-10?

Yeah, they're missing something all right:

The need to use proper torpedo launch envelopes (which were usually VERY strict, in terms of max alt, max speed). You can use them like iron bombs in FB. Which renders them WAY more effective than they ever were or ever should be.

They should be shelved until they're modelled correctly, and leave the naval action to dropping iron bombs only.
