I am just wondering what the majority of people use. I have better luck with DirectX personally, but it seems like there are so many who use OGL.

Polls don't work, admins don't have the permissions worked out in the new forums yet http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

OpenGL for me. Performance is the same, but in DirectX some objects disappear when they get close to the ground.

Yes, I found out that I couldn't vote, but OpenGL here. Honestly, DirectX is more consistent for me where fps is concerned, but overall lower marks, and doesn't look as "real".

ogl, no perfect in directx.

Direct X as stated, may not draw labels on objects below you (if you use icons/labels) and will not aford some of the eye candy (in particualr no perfect mode). If you are comparing DX vs OGL based on fps/Image quality be certain that your driver level settings are the same for each mode, otherwise you will see a big difference. . but not really one that is indicative of the relative merits of each mode.

directx faster

OGL here, higher FPS than Direct X.

Looks better on my ATI 9700 with OGL. Framearate generally not an issue too much between them.

OpenGL, although I was deeply hurt to find out that I couldn't vote in the polls until I found out that no one can yet. What's up with that?

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gifI've been using Open GL... but I prefer the over all performance of Dir X. open GL has at the moment better Eye Candy than Dir X as far as my machine go's.
I think... I'll be switching to one of the newer Boards soon though. Haven't made my mind up yet as which one to go with.

Open GL from day one. For me it's always run better and looked far better than Direct X, even when I was using a GeForce 256. And now, two cards later, with a 9800XT it's just plain awesome.

OpenGL too... it just seems to run better.

OpenGL seems to worke for me the best also. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

OpenGL is better all round on my rig. Can see ground targets at a greater distance too.
