View Full Version : Manchuria Map : Fix for 4.08?

While working on a DCG campaign for the Manchuria map and plotting out the road networks I came across a few problems. Several of the road sections come to cross a river, and the road ends up leading to a rail bridge. Then on the otherside the road starts again. Makes it VERY messy to try and make a campaign with when you have to go half way across the map to get around a river. There are at least three of these instances Im aware of and probably more.
Will the map get fixed for 4.08?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

This happens on several existing maps too, e.g. New Guinea, I think Kursk as well.

It is probably a mistake in the map building. Ask Ian Boys, the fix should be quick. There is also one other issue with one airfield, maybe the Burma can be re-released.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I think he's talking about Mandchouria, not Burma.

What is the issue on the Burma map?

As for the Manchuria map railways, do the trains at least stay on the tracks? On the Normandy maps, some of the trains jump the rails and go cross-country, which makes train hunting more difficult.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Wait, I think I understand now ... the bridges are rail bridges instead of vehicle bridges, and truck convoys can't use them. Is this a correct statement?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Yes skycat, that is the issue on manchuria. Some of the road routes come up to the river and a bridge..and the bridge is a rail bridge. Road sections on each side of the river but the bridge is a rail bridge.
At one place, a road and a train tracks approach a river, and both bridges are rail bridges. So you have to drive half way across the map to get around the river. There are at least three road routes that get trashed because bridges these roads use to get across a river, are rail bridges instead of road bridges.

You can see one example by looking at the bridge on the line between quadrants AD12 & AD11. The road is inturpted at the river by a rail bridge. Therefore the ground units cannot cross.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Ian Boys can be found pretty easily over at simhq. He can answer your question better then most here.

*I see yet another BSS squad has deported over. Have not seen any of you on HL, but please check your tag so it does not match ours. The other VMF214 squad that came over from CFS uses BSS_name we use VMF-214_name. Just a heads up.*

We been here for 5+ years so if you need any assistence just ask. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I wouldn't say we ported over. We've been around since 1997 flying both jet and prop sims. THough we never did fly CFS3. CFS2 blew chunks and I refuse to spend any more money or time with microsoft simulaturds. We did fly WWII fighters for a while but about all it was good at..was looking good.
We've been more involved with Falcon but our IL2 flight times have increased dramatically over the last year. As far as Hyperlobby goes we dont fly alot there. We do more co-op missions than anything. And when we do go on hyperlobby we use a Callsign_214 convention.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
