Im new. I fly in ww2ol and they highly recomended this game.

Just one question, concerning the pilot head movement speed (as when I look left or right). Is there a way to speed this up?

Thanks in advance

If you are speaking of seeing the head move from outside of the plane - it does not move. If you are speaking of looking left and right while flying the plane - pressing the F9 key will toggel from snap type veiwing to pan view (slower moving). As for slowing or speeding up the pan I wish for this also. Hope this helps , Art /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Welcome to our world. I would suggest you get a Saitek X45 and set it up so that the mouse view button on the throttle is at a comfortable speed for you. The stick is awesome and FB is such a great sim....a HOTAS is not neccessary but having one, particularly one with a mouse pan function will definitely add to your enjoyment.

Welcome

I think he is talking about speed of head movement..which can be sped up in the Configuration Settings file.
I don't remember which one I changed but I think it was in this section

[HookView Config]
AzimutSpeed=0.1
TangageSpeed=0.1
LenSpeed=1.0
MinLen=10.0
DefaultLen=20.0
MaxLen=3000.0
Speed=20

Compare that to yours and see if there is something set differently. 'Speed' maybe
(Sorry but I do not know my way around computers that well)

Mtspace, you will get more responses if you change the title of this thread to something like.."Please Help". There are a lot of helpful people on this forum and I know someone has the correct answer.

Dubbo2 is right. Change the "Speed" setting to a higher number for faster headmovement.

Well I appreciate all of your responses, thank you very much gentlemen. Yes the speed setting is what I was looking for in the configuration file, ill have to poke around and see which one it is. I would like the snap view much better if it would return to straight forward position after I release the hat.

Yes I have an x45 joystick. Is there a way to re keymap the joystick somehow to do the function the mouse does (look around), if so which buttons?

And a few more questions if you dont mind, is the best way to play multiplayer via the UBI.com host software? I got on last night and there were only like 3-4 people. Are there more servers out there with different settings and aircraft? Are there squads and squad battles? Any training available, im a complete newb with all these new aircraft.

Again thank you all, its a really fun game. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Your sig says it all Fornixx,

unless "UBI.com is just for n00bs" is humour! /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Different strokes for different folks.

It is possible to map any key function to the saitek.

So long as you have installed the 'advanced' version of the software.

I use the mouse on the throttle for viewing as well as the hat on my stick (MSFFB2).

Tip:

Map a button on your stick to 'centre view' so you can snap back!

Actually, when in 'snap view, the view does change to forward when button is released. It sounds like you are in 'pan view' which stays where it is when button is released.

Much more choice of server on Hyperlobby and at the moment the best place to be, until UBI extract their digit from that orifice and fix the game service..........

I have the latest Saitek software and I mapped the hat to be a mouse which is nice but I cant seem to get a button to re center my view - in the FB settings for center it takes the key or button I select but in the game it does nothing - Any ideas? Thanks, Art /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
