I threw together some maps really quick tonight to get this server up and going. For not the maps are just straight up DogFights, shoot down 120 planes or 75 pilots. When Swiss and myself get some time this week, we will be adding in new maps/missions with ground objectives and so forth. Current maps are as follows

BoB 1940: Bf-109E-4,Bf-109E-4/B VS HurricaneMkIIb

BoB 1941: HurricaneMkIIb, HurricaneMkIIc, SpitfireMkVb VS Bf-109E-7. Bf-109E-7Z, Bf-109F-2, Bf-109F-4, Ju-87B-2

PTO 1941: A6M2 vs P-40E

PTO 1943: A6M2, A6M5a vs P-38J, P-47D-10, P-51C-NT

WF 1942: Bf-109G-2, Fw-190A-4 VS P-51B-NA, SpitfireMkVbLF

WF 1943: Bf-109G-6, Bf-109G-6_Late, Fw-190A-5, Fw-190A-6, Ju-87G-1 VS P-38J, P-47D-10, P-51C-NT, SpitfireMkVbCLP, SpitfireMkIXc

I will be building a few objective based missions around these planesets and Swiss has some of his own in the works.

If anyone is interested in making missions for the servers, you can d/l a mission making pack for the server here:

Hey Sparx, looks good but...

"WF 1942: Bf-109G-2, Fw-190A-4 VS P-51B-NA, SpitfireMkVbLF"

The P-51B didn't operate in Europe until December of 1943. The G-2, A-4, and Spitifre LF.Vb are accurate for '42. A P-40 and Hurricane would make this sort of a N. Africa type map (which would be my favorite). Maybe put in 110 also. The P-51B seriously outclasses (as it should) the G-2 and A-4 IMO, and is really out of place as far as timeline goes.

Just a suggestion. Thanks as usual.

Please, if you going to have early maps for crying out loud include the Italian planes like the FiatG50. I am so tired of only seeing those **** German planes for the AXIS. I am too tired to go into it but there where many Italian fighters in north africa...many of which became aces.

Anyway...grats on new maps http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I find it interesting that a lot of BoB maps (in general, not just these) use the HurricaneMkIIb rather than the historically correct mk1. If it was good enough in the real BoB, why isn't it good enough in the sim? Are people just not using its strengths well enough, or what?

because the 109 E was superior to the hurri mk1
and we cant have things a bit unbalanced for the red "so called good guys" because they are not used to be the underdog and fighting with a disadvantage IMHO ,but i see more of those things regarding BoB because we dont have the spit mkI they just throw in Spit MkVb's vs Emils LOL (F16 server did that i think)
a bit sad tho

Thanks for the outstanding Warclouds server . I always have fun in these rooms , they are great . I do however agree with Mar about the Italian planes . Throw in the Fiats and maybe the Bf-110 for the N. Afrika map and you'd be set .

1. As I stated, I did not have much time to spend on putting these maps together, so i purely went off what IL2 has listed as a year for entering service.

2. If you can do better on the maps/mission, then feel free to d/l the mission tutorial I put together and make some maps. The link is in my post above. I will stress this though, the guidelines I laid out in the text file are not optional.

3. I am not a WW2 airplane history nut. Never claimed to be and never will be. I enjoy the flight sim and the little bit of historical content i get from the sim and discovery wings. Therefore, if you expect me to make maps that are **** near historically correct, you will be waiting along time. Again, I say, if you can do better, download the mission tutorial and have at it. I will host the maps with no problem as long as they are made to what I have laid out in the text file.

Thanks to the few of you that expressed your gratitude. Not often you get that in here.
