Hey folks,

I'm closing in on being finished with my latest campaign. It was started back at the beginning of the summer (late spring actually) and since then I've had a bit of a busy time with a dying computer and some other things getting in the way but I'm nearly done so I've got some screen shots to show off. Hope everyone likes them!

As you can see Facing the Wind is a F4U-1D Corsair campaign. You fly for VF-84 off the USS Bunker Hill during the Okinawa campaign. The campaign starts off with a raid on Kyushu and follows up with facing down the kamikaze threat and supporting the troops on Okinawa. The campaign features some fantastic skins from a variety of sources but R0NNC0 deserves the credit for the VF-84 Corsair skins which are fantastic.

Should be ready in a couple of weeks. I've got a small team of beta testers going over it now and some final touch ups being done and then its ready!

That looks really great, IceFire. I liked your BoB campaign from a few years ago. I'm sure I'll like this one too. Thanks for the efforts.

I remember playing Storm Clouds and swooping down on a hapless Storch that showed up seemingly out of nowhere! Ah good times. Looking forward to this.

Shweeeet http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif looks like great fun as always icefire.
I'v always wanted to do a Corsair campaign but the ones I'v looked at never seem very interesting and of course there are no stock ones so as a result I'v never got into the corsair even though I'v always wanted to http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif,I know you'll do a great job of this(ya got me into the tempest in a big way with storm clouds!)and i look forward to it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hope you folks enjoy it when it comes out! Its like Storm Clouds in that it gives you a bit of everything and lets you experience some of the different things that Corsair pilots would have been doing during this battle. It should be the same mix of fun and history as some of my previous efforts that were well received.

Hoping just a short time now and it'll be ready to go!

@knightflyte: I haven't done any Battle of Britain campaigns...probably someone else http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You should be able to just load up any campaign...the trick is that the briefing is normally just set for the intended side and additional work would need to be done to make it with multiple briefings. But you should just be able to load it up ...

Not sure on that actually. Never hosted a campaign co-op before! If someone can let me know if there's something special I can do to at least make sure it works then I'm all ears.

to answer your question icefire - I host a dedicated COOP server on which there are 20+ static coop campaigns amongst other things http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif - try and find 102nd_COOP_ded on HL and check a few missions, you will see all that needs to be done http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

btw, you are right, main "problem" in conversion of single player campaigns are briefings.....

Quick update on the progress of the campaign. The length of the campaign has swelled from my original plan to 25 missions in two parts. The first part is with VF-84 (USS Bunker Hill) and the F4U-1D while the second part is with a slightly less accurate scenario during July 1945 (less accurate because of the maps available mostly) flying with VF-85 (USS Shangri-La) and using the F4U-1C. So you can really get a feel for both!

Testers are still working through a few more missions but results are positive and the kamikaze intercept missions are well liked for their absolutely chaotic feel. Should have this to everyone very soon now!
