Does anybody else think they should make throwing knives a one hit kill when guards or archers aren't aware of you, because in ac2 its annoying that it takes 2 knives to kill archers in forli and venice.

Imagine you are standing on a rooftop with only a bow and arrow (clothing optional) and there's a dude with a knife being thrown straight at you from any angle.

Now imagine you are standing on the same rooftop with a bow and arrow and armor (clothing still optional) and the same dude is throwing the same knife at you.

Which one would hurt more? With armor? Or without? And what are the chances of surviving the attack from said knife?

I'm pretty sure Ubisoft forgot to ask themselves these questions.

Bro, thanks for bringing this up. And now, it's time to get funky!!! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qe1ScoePqVA)

Ive tested it a couple of times and 1 knife will kill any weak guard/archer anywhere besides forli and venice because all the guards are seem to be stronger in forli/venice. Also its annoying that archers will most of the time sense the knife before it even hits them resulting in an alert.

I spose the fact that you have a Knife belt that can hold 30 knives (i think thats how much you end up with) by the time you reach Venice means that you could probably kill all the archers in the whole of Venice with one pouch of knives which would be a bit easy tbh, maybe thats the thinking behind it not sure though?

I'm not sure if you're over exaggerating it intentionally there Ru?
Theres more than 30 guards in Venice....

Or they could let you charge the throw like the flying knives special move.

Yes ION good idea http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif 2 hits with knives is annoying at times but i spose more real.

So it looks like you can kill at least two people at a time with the flying knives move out of combat. So if its a one hit kill now doesn't it kind of make the crossbow pointless, or its use is only to make ezio even more of a badass.

I'm thinking the crossbow is going have a longer range.

and also ION, you can just edit your post instead of the double post http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif use the little eraser at the bottom of your post to do that

I'd go with the former, simply because it hurts more to be hit by both a flying knife AND a flying dude! :P

Ya i know how to erase posts i made the first one before the newest gameplay video came out that showed the guy using throwing knives, so i didn't see the need to erase it. Also wasn't the range in ac2 determined by lock on distance because i'm pretty sure the gun and throwing knives had the same range.

haha it doesn't erase it, it lets you edit that post XD and no gameplay has been shown of the crossbow really so they might have changed it, they had to make it different somehow right?

YA at least you will be able to stealth kill stronger guards. Also i wonder if they will still hear the knife coming which was really annoying.

Ya that or they have the force/spider sense. Also they can hear a knife but not a gunshot.

If the one hit kill on
stronger guards is based on the NOT in engine trailer shown at E3, then.... Yeah....
