Hey... my joystick is getting old and misplaying a bit too so i have decided to upgrade it in the coming weeks. Anyone got any ideas which is the best to buy for a realitively cheap price, i wish to have a throttle, rudder control (not just the swiveling main joystick) and all the other common stuff of the current joysticks...

Also i've got a GeForce 4 Ti 4200 128Mb video card and was hoping to upgrade that too, when prices for the good cards come down a bit. I'm running a AMD xp 2800+ with 512Mb of 400 DDR ram and Abit NF7-S M/B. which card will give me the maximum proformance my system can achieve. i was currently thinking Radean 9800 Pro would this be a good choice or are there better alternatives like the FX series? Thx for your help...

Follow your first mind. Right now there is nothing better than the 9800Pro except the 9800XT.

Might I suggest the Saitek X-45? A great HOTAS at a great price.

Go here for more info:

and they have good support IMO.

Just my opinion:

I have tried logitech wingman2 and wingman 3d (force feedback) joysticks with FB and they make it very difficult to fly because there is so little movement in the stick, and also the raw data sent to the game is all over the place... no accuracy at all no matter how much tweaking I did with the sensitivity sliders, deadzone and filtering. Personally I would steer clear of this series.

I bought a cyborg 3d gold (36 Euros/dollars) and was very happy with the difference it made to the gameplay. It has a throttle slider, hat-switch, 4 fire buttons, and 6 programmable buttons on the base (although I don't use them as programmable, I just allocate them in FB normally).

I also use a .dll plugin called NewView that emulates TrackIR. With this I can use a second cyborg gold to look around. Very intuative, and I hardly need to use the keyboard at all.
