Hi there!First of all, I hope someone will want to read this wall of text. If in doubt maybe the links at the bottom will raise your interest. I haven't been here for a long long time, good to be backhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif. Now back in the day before AC2 I had come up with an idea that was my AC dreamgame. I had various reactions to it, some good, some bad. Now I would like to show the AC Brotherhood generation my fantasy. With a slight variation since I now know what happens to Ezio, and assuming that since there where Assassins in Asia, they would also always have been in the Americas before the coming of the europeans.

After Ezio's adventures troughout his life,he had a family, children who would be assassins after him. The generation of these children discovered that Spanish members of The Knights Templar had gone to America because they suspected Pieces of Eden to be there, and they could hunt them without the Assassins to bother them. The Spanish set sail and one of Ezio's children and some other Assassins followed to stop them.

Now we have a scenario in America, where the Europeans would start their colonisation and conquest of the New World. Since the game has quite something to do with the doomsday theory the Native American civilisation called the Maya, I think its plausible to let the game take place in Maya territory.

The Mayans had an Assassin order and they possessed a Piece of Eden (maybe more than 1) in their possession. They also knew about the first civilisation and learned that there would be a catastrophic event on the 21st of December 2012. In real life, the Spanish attacked and destroyed te Mayan Civilisation. So in the game one of the reasons for this attack would be that they wanted the Piece(s) of Eden from the Maya's, who were not willing to let it be taken from them easily. The European Assassins Including Ezio's child discover all of this and go to the Maya's to try and forge an Alliance, with succes. Both Orders, European and Maya befriend and team up to safegaurd the Piece(s) of Eden and the information they had gotten from it.

My arguments that the newly discovered Americas would be a very good place to have an AC game are that; It would be very original, there has never been a game from this time while it poses a very interesting scenario. A jungle landscape, with carribean beaches and large and ancient Mayan cities, along with early European colony villages, and the raging war between both factions. Also the Central American ancient civilisations had lots of mystery and wonder about them and their lifestyles and religion, which in my opinion fit very good in the game. I would love to see this in a game.

I have a few images of what this all could look like in concept:

Mayan City (Think about freerunning on that!) (http://www.google.nl/imgres?imgurl=http://www.waterburyobserver.com/worxcms_images/El-Mirador-NGS.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.waterburyobserver.com/worxcms_published/recent_stories_124.shtml&usg=__JUFnzmULLjL4lKK1BePKJBrrZSA=&h=465&w=600&sz=83&hl=nl&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=RI38yomvsYqBYM:&tbnh=117&tbnw=165&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmayan%2Bcity%26hl%3Dnl%26biw%3D1024%2 6bih%3D517%26gbv%3D2%26tbs%3Disch:1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=123&vpy=72&dur=1575&hovh=198&hovw=255&tx=144&ty=108&ei=dEfPTPivD4nBswbFyvjwAQ&oei=dEfPTPivD4nBswbFyvjwAQ&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=16&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0)

These are Mayan ruins to give you an idea of what the landscape looks like. Imagine this image with these buildings still whole and at the center of a vast city in this landscape.
Yucatan Landscape (http://www.google.nl/imgres?imgurl=http://www.rutahsa.com/Tikal-6.jpg&imgrefurl=http://strangeworldofmystery.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html&usg=__xNuI00Xf8ISBKZnEsKb7PdBEyF0=&h=398&w=550&sz=81&hl=nl&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=FncQ9XxLC3VwvM:&tbnh=123&tbnw=155&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dyucatan%2Bforest%26um%3D1%26hl%3Dnl%2 6sa%3DN%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D517%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=727&vpy=81&dur=358&hovh=168&hovw=232&tx=186&ty=85&ei=rUzPTIzvFtHqOcyj4M0B&oei=BEzPTIH8KszKswbp9KmBAg&esq=13&page=1&ndsp=16&ved=1t:429,r:5,s:0)

Also it may be fun to include early Spanish settlements, like this one:
Note the African slaves, maybe if we help them they help us? Cool concept. I think the Mayan guy is a bit flashy for an assassin, showing his eyes in the wide open and the headdress and all. I've always thought assassin's as low-key, calm, collected, and the picture depicts more of a warrior savage in my opinion.

AC is an amazing game with lots of room for adaptations and continuations though, luckily for us.

I agree with you on that. I searched for Mayan warrior, assuming I wasn't going to get much when I would search for mayan assassin haha. No but if this thing would come I'm sure they would be able to turn it into a more stealthy outfit whilst still preserving the mayan look.

Very interesting, I think its funny that the Mayan warrior's head dress actually had beaks and look like birds and assassin's have eagle representation. :P

When it comes to those who came before they probably have locations near them and there are judging by this picture.

Overall, its a pretty good idea. But you failed REALLY hard in one part. Bolded it for you. They never predicted the end of the world. They just didnt want their calender to reset. Saying the world will end because thats when their calender ends is like saying that the world has ended thousands of times because OUR calender resets at the end of december. Not to mention, the mayan calender has already reset before. This doomsday theory has been so debunked already, it really annoys me to see people actualy believe it. Now, to further debunk it, for you people so thouroughly in denial, wishing the world would just end already, I have heard from someone decended from mayans, who actualy knows about them, that their calender reseting has nothing to do with the end of the world.

It doesn't matter what people's opinion is about that, what does matter is that in the Assassins Creed universe, something bad IS going to happen in 2012 if the Assassins dont stop it. It's a game and everything ubi wants to happen can happen, regardless of what will happen in real life.

Then yes, you did miss it lol. I won't ruin it for you or anyone who might stumble across it here but if you want to find out, go on youtube and just type in something like "Assassin's Creed 2 ending" and I'm sure you'll find it. But yeah, in the AC universe, 12/12/12 is predicted to be doomsday so his idea does make sense.

Yeah me too. But those dudes just really liked to dress up:P. Sure Ubisoft will be able to get a more stealthy subtle thingy going on.

Maybe that would be subtle(not sure what the average person wore in those days). it should definitely be in that style though.

also: not sure how Ezio's people would fit in.

I was just thinking wouldnt dressing like them be more subtle than looking different because if the character looked the same he could just blend into the crowd, although altair and ezio didnt seem to have a problem with this :P

Im sure that the mayan assassins would be nice enough to have us take a look in their wardrobe. Id prefer wearing something completely different by the time I have played I, II and Brotherhood to death anyway, haha. Imagine it; An Italian assassin befriending maya's and take over their habits. Maybe even have a Mayan girl at the end. Give desmond some native american blood.

@Jack: yea, but I think, and I realy wouldn't know, that the atire in the picture is more of a ritual warrior thing, than an every-day outfit.

Yeah you're right about that, although it is a regular warrior. Warriors and holy people of the Maya's dressed up a lot. There are not much images at all about civilians of that time..But just keep in mind, I just wanted to give you guys at least sort of an idea what they looked like.

Mayan City (Think about freerunning on that!) How a Mayan Assassin might look like(These are images from Mayan warriors) Note the cynical text at the bottom:

These are Mayan ruins to give you an idea of what the landscape looks like. Imagine this image with these buildings still whole and at the center of a vast city in this landscape.
Yucatan Landscape (http://www.google.nl/imgres?imgurl=http://www.rutahsa.com/Tikal-6.jpg&imgrefurl=http://strangeworldofmystery.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html&usg=__xNuI00Xf8ISBKZnEsKb7PdBEyF0=&h=398&w=550&sz=81&hl=nl&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=FncQ9XxLC3VwvM:&tbnh=123&tbnw=155&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dyucatan%2Bforest%26um%3D1%26hl%3Dnl%2 6sa%3DN%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D517%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=727&vpy=81&dur=358&hovh=168&hovw=232&tx=186&ty=85&ei=rUzPTIzvFtHqOcyj4M0B&oei=BEzPTIH8KszKswbp9KmBAg&esq=13&page=1&ndsp=16&ved=1t:429,r:5,s:0)

Also it may be fun to include early Spanish settlements, like this one:
Note the African slaves, maybe if we help them they help us? The guys with the "beak" are Eagle Warriors, their some saught of War Driven Priests or something.
And It wouldnt really work, because The age that these kids would be, the year would be around 1550, around the time Columbus went to America. But, if you were a kid of Ezio, you would probly get the plage after the Templars let their rats out to the Americas.

But, if this were to become a game, You would need to learn alot of the Americas and the Factiosn around.

And Iam pretty sure it was the Aztecs, not the Mayans around that tieme.

if youre trying to say it wouldnt work as the main char would get the plague, in ac II the heralds kept shouting "blah blah, plague outbreak be carful" yet jack still happened to ezio, so that wouldnt be a problem for his son/daughter

I must be missing something because I didnt notice any doomsday prophecies for 2012 in AC1 or 2. Of course

AlphaEnder:

Yes to you glenneey. However, there was also another reference even BEFORE that. The emails (which no one ever checked because they hated it). It mentions in a letter from...I want to say Allan, but it's to Vidic, saying the launch date has been pushed back to 12.21.2012 and that the PoE has to be located, tested, and attached before then. All of the emails point to these "artifacts" as being sources of great power, mentioning the Tungaska Event (something like a 10 megaton blast in 1906(?)). This suggests that a cataclysm will be set in motion on 12.21.2012 by the Templars/Abstergo.

Capiche? =)
