Its irritating but I have to face facts. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

My regular servers demands too much from my computer.
For me 30 to 40 players seem to work fine on smaller maps and with less flak and groundobjects. I actually get good performance on even big maps if one cut the flak and objects down a lot.

Since PF there has been a trend to use large maps and dense and fast firing flak. Also ships wich deliver hundreds of bursts around u in a short period of time. In addition to this lots of ground objects and 50+ players....

I'm in a position where I just cant afford to upgrade anymore for a long time ahead and most likely wont make the transition to BoB.
(My limited cash must go to workingtools from now on).
I have no desire to stutter and warp around anylonger. Dont want to ruin it for others either since I myself get anoyed with warping planes on my tracks.

So....Anyone know of any servers with around 30 to 40 players and less flak and objects?

Tips most welcome.

Try CZ_AH_Dedicated PF 3.04M. Sometimes Zeke vs Wildcat works well for me with my medium rig. I was actually thinking of starting hosting games again with some historical & semi-historical (balanced) setups - don't know if anyone would be interested. It would be something like Africa 1940, Burma 1941, Kursk 1943, Guadalcanal 1942 & maybe some later stuff too like Burma 1944.

Hmm, EasternHotshots could be revived. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Its not running atm, but if people want to contribute with maps and such, its possible to let it gain some interest again? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif It will run with a max of 32 players and no scripting, just some basic flak around bases and some groundobjects around and on those bases. So it ran very well, and should be fine for lower end systems. If people are interested, either let me know here or sent me a PM and I'll get back to you all on monday http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

As for the maps it had/has running, its a specified planeset for every period. Mostly every year, so you get dogfights with interesting combination fighting eachother. Missions were also based on which planes fought where exactly. So we had 1942 and 1943 as the main focus as we think that gives the most enjoyable dogfighting experience! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I find CZ_AH_Dedicated very entertaining with planesettings that I KNOW you'd love Ob (lot's a cr@p), and the users max out around 40. Usually around 20-25). The AAA is limited as well. Try it out, I tend to fly this server quite much these days. Unfortunately I haven't found their stat-page yet (if they have one). Not that it is necessary but could be fun at times.
