Out of curiosity, what war or campaign do you lot find most interesting aircraft/dogfighting wise? I think its fair to assume most here have an interest in the Pacific theater, but which was your fav?

Me, I have always been interested in the British vs the Italians in North Africa early in WWII; what with Gladiators and Hurricanes vs CR.42's and Fiat G50's; kind of the ultimate in dogfighting before boom and zoom took off.

Most interesting?

AVG, Burma/China, Dec '41 to July '42

Most glamorous? US, ETO escort pilot

I love flying as a P-47 or P-51 pilot defending the bomber stream, but the AVG stuff is even more interesting to me
