Currently in the Beta patch (Yes I know, still beta but still) the P-51D's don't have airelon trim available.

I have seen a real P-51D in the MLM Musuem in Soesterberg and I clearly saw airelon trim flaps on it, or at least they looked like airelon trim flaps to me.

So my question is, does the P-51D really have airelon trim or not?

Thanks.

Yes it did - this is also evident because theres a aileron trim wheel in the cockpit.

Thx, now I really hope it will be available in the 1.2 final patch.

those 'trim tabs' you refer to were not necersarily trim tabs, i cannot confirm for definite that a Mustang has or does not have aileron trim tabs. But i can tell that if you saw a North American Harvard in a museum you would say that it had aileron trim and i can tell that it definitely does not, what it does have are mini control surfaces right in the middle at the rear of the ailerons that look exactly the same as trim tabs however they are not they are aileron assist tabs, as you try to bank one way say you turn to port so the port aileron comes up to push that wing down, well the 'assist tab' on that wing will go down to push the aileron up, therefore giving assistance to otherwise heavy controls. That may be the same technology on a mustang but i could'nt say now as i have never examined one in very close detail.

It would seem logical that the P-51 has airelon trim since the P-47 has it as well.

Also in 1.2 rc, they removed the supercharges and gave it wep, I dont know if the superchargers are in auto like the supposed jug ones but in auto you loose alot of performance then manual. Also the ki84 seems to be faster then the killed stang at sealevel both with radiators open which it shouldnt be. I understand the mustang was faster then it should be in 1.2 beta but so is the zero and ki84 but they are left the same, and the p40 still is slower then it should be and instantly overheats even with 90 trottle and 90 pitch.

I also dont think the dm of the zero and ki84 should be greater then the p51d which definatly seems like it is. All this mustang whining made oleg change which it is more realistic but the ki84 exceeds all the speeds it should reach and so does the zero im hoping they fix them in the final.

The only good changes I noticed in fms is the 262 at high alt 7000m + and the pivot of the mustang radiator, i havent got 1.2 rc 02 to see the payloads and map changes, I dont think anyone has successfully gotten it.

Leadsplitter it could be a bug when not using the RC 02 files as well. I can't even play the game with RC 01 over the 1.2b. We will hope and see what heppens when we get the other files.

Well I agree with Lead about the Zeke and Frank, they seem a little too good to be true when it comes to speed and damage model.

Phelonic fiber trim tabs were mounted in each aileron by three hinge bearings. A metal horn provided an attachment point for the tab actuating rod. The left tab, adjustable in flight, was operated from the cockpit.

And.... the Pony had anti-servo tabs which help relieve aileron control forces at high speeds, which is why the machine retained a good ROL. Other US birds had them too.
