View Full Version : How is Oleg`s BoB going on.

If my memory services me right, i read 1C new project Battle of Britan. I see few shots of it but lately i hawent hear anything about this.
Is game still going to come.
I also hear that airoplane factories is going to deglaim rojalties if games uses planes names they own. That would kill meny smaller team flight sims. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Yes, there is a problem, but I don't believe that the problem is comming from all of the AC manufacturers that are still in business, pretty much just one company at the moment. Oleg is still working on BoB, and it is expected out sometime in 2005.

Glad to hear BoB is still under work. What do you think, will BoB use DX9.0. Those shadows that new cards can draw in flightsim, oh man and those
rich colours.

Hehe, yea after my getting spoiled by some of the beautiful lighting and atmosphere effects of FS2004, I've got high hopes for BoB.

Yep. The 3.0 shaders that are currently only available on the Nexi gen Nvidia cards are already available with PF and the merged PF/FB installation. BoB is going to be way beyond what we have now, and even though only the core planeset from BoB will be in there at first, Oleg promised in a thread Monday (I believe it was) that planes, maps, etc. will be added as time goes on, just like with FB.

I'm kind of confused

So if you have a new card, should you use Direct X for the best effects or Open GL

I've always noticed that the best effects are only available in Open GL in this game...so how can it be using the latest directX shaders if I am in Open GL ??

Yep that is pretty confusing. If i had got this right it is possible to make DX efects in
OpenGL, like this shader 3.0. OpenGL is litle mystery for me. DirectX i get but OpenGL, who are people behid of that. Who develpomed that?

OpenGL can do Direct X 9 features no problem.

It's kinda weird but lets just say under OpenGl you'll be able to get the Direct X features.

BTW I hope microsoft releases DirectX X before BoB is released, that should give us some serius:

-Graphics cards

Very nicly those Dx X features I read about, one pipeline= both pixel as vertex pipeline and the're gonna be long pipelines from what I heard so a lot of calculations possible= seriusly nice effects

Oleg has mentioned that the recent aircraft manufacturer issues should not have any effect on BoB

Here is a post he made just the other day about BoB:

Also, I read an interview with Oleg that said a possibilty is two offline campaigns- one follows the actual events of the battle of Britain, and the other allows the player to influence the Battle to the point that Britain may be invaded
