Yeah, definitely nice. To make things even sweeter, since I last seriously played PF, I've bought a new X52 and replaced my CRTs with 3 19" 8ms LCDs. Not as big as the old 21's, but boy do these new ones ever look nice.

So, overall it's like I just got a brand new sim and computer. Sweet!

Can't wait to try it.

I'm about to go out to a gig, but I'm almost tempted to stay home and play PF! (How sad).

OK...I'm not the computer guru in this house and she's not home. I've pulled up the 4.03 patch but you're giving me too many choices...DUH.
I have PF+AEP+FB up through 4.02 loaded. None of the choices on 4.03 look familiar to me.
HELP ME...HELP ME for I am computerly challenged.

If anyone wants to post a list of changes (other than what we got in the readme) the rest of us who are stuck at work for the day would sure appreciate it.

Dex, glad to hear you got your tri-head support, I'd love fly that way someday, but I've decided to go widescreen instead.

Speaking of which, any word on widescreen FOV? Is it the same?

The apparently unending support for this already marvelous product never ceases to inspire me. Oleg and his cohorts could have rested on their laurels long ago, but we are still receiving patches years after the initial release of the retail version of FB!

Mind you, these patches are implementing further improvements, additions, and enhancements in the game, and much less so for any repairs - if any. All free of charge. All this while similtaneously working on BoB, which I'm sure will be a stellar product.

Sorry, but gotta give credit where credit is due. We all hear more than our fair share of whiners, complainers, and shameless self-promoters (note: this does not include those who have legitimate constructive complaints).

It's almost enough to make me want to learn how to speak Russian! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Anyplace to download where you don't have to navigate 20 pages, wait 15 minutes for ads to load just to wait in line another hour and allows download managers?

80% of the population of the world is still on dial up, so a direct download link that allows a download manager would be sweet http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I've just had a quick look over 4.03 and it is great except for the JU88 which has a most strange pilot perspective. The contorl column (joystick) appears too low - in it present position the "handle bars" would prevent the pilots legs getting to the rudder pedals unless the pilot was extremely bow legged.

Otherwise I think the upgrade is great.

I still want (and need) a Solomon Islands map, but otherwise, I like the flight model changes in 4.03. Thanks to Oleg and company for desynching the 50 caliber wing mounted machine guns and greatly reducing the inflight wobble seen in 4.02. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Can€t put down the flaps on Ju-88 A-4, they always go back up in the close position? Anyone else have the same problem? What to do?

02-11-2006, 04:51 PM
none of the direct links work. i have a 56k modem and a download manager but can't seem to find a direct link that i can use with it. if i try the other links, eventually the connection closes and it turns out to be a waste of hours waiting.. anyone know a direct link that i can start downloading and continue at a later time?
the version i have is the merged install.

02-11-2006, 05:13 PM
Anikol,

Try slowing down your JU-88 a bit. I know certain kinds of planes the flaps only go down when you are below a certain airspeed. I think the Wildcat works like this too. If that doesn't do the trick, something may be messed up in your controls.

Thanks folks for the answers (JG52Uther and VR C Brendt). I have check my configuration but flaps are working with other planes.
I am still surprised by the flaps€ behaviour€¦ I haven€t find any book talking about auto-flaps, like those of the Wildcat, on the Ju-88 A.
I find very hard to land the 88 without flaps before 200 km/h! The plane is really €œsinking€. Perhaps I don€t land properly! If any of you can give me a references for the Ju-88 flaps... Thanks!

Does 4.03 include the Beta Graphic Dlls? I installed them and they work pretty good most of the time. But I was wondering if 4.03 installed them now, or not. If not, are they compatable with 4.03/should I install them again?

Reporting a Bug in 4.03
If you creste mission for PF standalone version there is possibility to add Do-335A-0 (German)
into spawn places. This will effectively halt whole game and not allow to choose plane npr hit fly buttom. So when building maps this need to be removed from hangars. Otherwise no other bugs detected so far.

JMRiceBoi

are there any resumable downloaders.
I cant see any .
I download for 5/6 h at 64 k
my tel line does cut out often (not the program).
so I'll most probably loose 2 to 3 to 4 hours if I dont get a resumable d/l

Flashget from amazesoft (http://www.amazesoft.com) and also
Accelerator Plus from speedbit (http://www.speedbit.com) will resume downloads if the host allows it.

I guess, 4.02m, 4.03m... lost count after all the upgrades over the years!

Oh, and I agree with the original post: Thanks Oleg!!! I really appreciate it!!

While happyly downloading with Metaproduct 1.8...
I thought that it could help some chaps who are in my ex situation.
I use Metaproduct 1.8 in an "automatic mode"meaning that it does pretty well what it wants.
It has the way of using more than one channel of the host and more and more the hosting sites are aware of it and consequently block the channel hoggers redirecting the download to microsoft non resumable default.
So what I did was set it to 1 channel only then
as it did not go to metaproduct 1.8 ,I forced the use by dragging the link to a the download manager list of files
And that was it .
Now I can restart.
By the way I use UBI download site
follow ==>>pacific fighters ==>>upgrades and you're there

Additional Notes:

If you have a computer with a Pentium 4 processor, you may occasionally encounter game lock-ups or crashes to desktop. In order to solve that, copy your il2_core.dll into the il2_corep4.dll (for example, with the following command: "copy il2_core.dll il2_corep4.dll"; or, in Windows Explorer, navigate to your sim installation directory, delete the existing il2_corep4.dll, make a copy of the il2_core.dll, and rename the copy to il2_corep4.dll)

New Slovak Bf-109 skins - Robert "Robo." Ulbrik, Peter "Foo'bar" Schaller

Not really the readme itself, but you get the gist of it. This is more a quick bugfix patch than one of the larger patches.

Strange that it isn't available at the 1C website for the Russian version..... I just checked.

Well, I think it is a pity that patches are not available at this site, because most of the mentioned mirror-sites have made a mess out of it. If you are able to get at the right spot anyway. I've spent several hours to get the needed patches but I didn't succeed in that so I 'll stick at my good old 4.01m-version.

Jarza_Death_Man's link works for d/l. Ubisoft's link usually works but not for me this patch. Now to apply it. Thanks Jarza.

I have intalled 4.04m over 4.03m but it's not working...? Nothing appear at the bottom left of the sceen when il2-fb-pf is loading and don't have the extinguisher on the Mosquito. I have intalled it in my il2 file? What to do?

For my benefit, anikollag, what was the problem? I have had the same experience, and do not see the correct version number being reported in the bottom left part of the loading screen.
