Ok early mission in an I-16 single player. Things just go great for me. Better than ever after I down two BF-109's, and really ruin a crews day in a ME-111 by flaming one engine, and causing the other to smoke like a coal train.
Anyway so I'm flying back happy as can be and decide to snap a screen shot. So I get in external view, and get the pilot's head turned right at the angle I want. Like as if another pilot was taking the picture. My ship was pretty battered too. I was going to covert it over to black, and white. Then take another looking the same angle out of the cockpit. Then cut the cockpit wing from that picture, and paste it onto the other. Basically like I said trying to make a picture look like a real WWII aerial photograph.

Anyway I hit the printscreen key, and WHAM! The game crashes back to the desktop, and gives me a fatal error.
The picture was no big deal, but I really would have rather not lost that mission. Few air to air dogfights go in my favor that much.

I got the same on the one - and only - occasion I tried a screenshot on this computer. I have an ATI card. However, the same sometimes happened on my old system with an Nvidia card.

Although I've never had this happen, I always save the track of any such mission and take my screenshots from the track. For one thing, that allows you to do slow-downs and pauses for getting better angles.

I've got a 9800 pro and have never had IL2 or FB do that to me. I'm also running IL2 FB at max graphics and max card settings as well.

I'm running an Intel 2.4b Northwood with a GeForce 4 Si 4200 I believe thats the card. It's not the MX 400 I know that for sure. Anywa I've got my graphics on some things cranked down a little. I think mainly due to only having 256mb of memory.

I hadn't saved a track as I always forget because 9 times out of 10 it would just be me getting shot down. Hopefully I can repeat the missions success. I seem to be much more effective air to air in the I-16 after taking some players advice on here, and setting gun convergence to 180 meters for all my guns.
