Anyone have an idea for another game after SHIII ? I'd like to see a surface naval game along the lines of Great Naval Battles series of the early nineties. The battle of the Barents strait again, Hood and Bismark, the Channel dash.
Any thoughts on this ?

DC II, inclusing drivable battleships and carriers. Need the option to send out airplanes when driving a CV.

After that SH IV, in the pacific with atleast English, Dutch and American subs,

How about a WW1 sub simulator? I'd rather fight for Kaiser Bill than for Hitler any day of the week.

On second thought, that sounds like a 3rd party mod project rather than a commercial project.

A WWI mod would be really nice!

Be patient, someone is working on it; details in subsim.com forums.

The only problem with a WWI sub mod is no TDC. All firing solutions would have to be done in your head! Are you up on your geometry and Algebra?

All WW2 sub sims so far have offered automatic TDC solutions. I don't see why a WW1 sub sim would need to be any different. Anyway, if it was necessary, I could certainly do it. I am a draughtsman by trade. Geometry is my business. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Anyway, I doubt that any sub commander did geometry in his head. They had slide rules (it's been around since 1622), paper and pencils even in 1914.

Beeryus, if geometry is your business italian WWII subs will be perfect for you.

No TDC equipement, only slide rules, paper and pencils, as in german subs of WWI.

I would dig seeing a Hunley mod!

To command a carrier? That must be boring! At least in WWII they had lots of weapons, not like now, but I don't see the point at all.

Maybe not for some people as I see them grabing
the carrier lots of times in BF1942 to ram the
enemy ships all over the midway map. LOL http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I think its funny unless they start doing it
in SHIII. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

After some surfing here and there, this game came to my attention: (for those hungry after WWI sub simulation) http://scr3.golem.de/?d=0605/1914_Schalen_des_Zorns&a=45615

It is in german language, but the SS tells the story.
Great graphics imo, but the interface do look old-school though

Someone posted a topic on this very forum about this game and linked from subsim, I think the games is 1914 Shells of Fury

Here it is;

On the assumption that SHIII made use of some of resources put into the previous versions of Silent Hunter, DC2 would be top of the list. It would also give us a reason to hang on to our machines for that much longer.
