Inside the Ju388....

Is it just me, or do they not look both pretty AND dangerous (like the Daleks http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif)

I wish there was going to be a ju88 added. Did the Germans fly ju88's on the russian front?

That Ju388 looks too dangerous to fly hehe.

This Junkers 388 certainly looks mean http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif.

Nice pictures.

Cool http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif, but I prefer the somewhat similar, but even cooler looking Jermolajev JER-2

They do. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

There's _something_ in 30's-40's German AC. They're VERY insect-y, making them look like both sensuous AND degenerated at the same time http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

No, but it's true! Just look at them...

Sorry F19 but speaking impartially that Ju388(slinky/sexy/cool in a slightly vulture like way)wins out over the JER(never heard of him!)(uncool turkey like-but still VERY interesting and quirky!!!)in the style department .Neither would win a beauty contest however and in fact look like places to die at the hands of a fighter....interior of 388 grim!

Of course its just my opinion http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. But, speaking of aesthetics, who can claim to be impartial?

Ju-388 was one of the only aircraft to employ a turbo-supercharger with a BMW 801, the BMW 801 TJ powerplant.

BMW researchers evidently used some of the research knowledge gained while developing their BMW 003 jet engines and incorporated it into the design of the turbo-supercharger of the BMW 801 TJ.

British engineer Roy Fedden, who studied the BMW turbo after the war considered it to be an advanced, yet compact design compared to other turbos of the day.

Watson's Wizzers brought brought one back to the US after the war and those who flew it gave the komandogerat automatic control system high marks.

They do look pretty dangerous. Dangerous to be in if it got hit. All that equipment and you bucking around in the flight like a cowboy riding a bull...

So true. Old Romans had some appropriate sentence for this occasion (don't they always have one http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif); say something "degustibus non disputatum est" or something like that meaning that we shouldn't talk about taste. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Now, where did I put my Roman grammar book...

BTW I like both of them, maybe JER a bit more, but that's because I always liked PE-2, and JER is very alike. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I've been in it. It's a time machine, smells like old Germans. Only Intercom/radio boxes installed by USAAF for flight testing, they're light grey.
