Hrm. I see lots of different values around the web.

I'm thinking its the default FOV. I could be wrong.

Should be easy enough to check, but something tells me that's not it. FOV values are rounded off (35, 40, 45, etc.). A value of 51 does not fit the pattern.

Bump

The number seems to change everytime I run Il2 ranging from 32 to 58.

There's no visual difference that I can tell. Although the 190 'Bar' does seem a bit smaller the higher the number is...I could be wrong.

From Dieg777's conf.ini guide:

'Snap view -Even number. Pan view Odd number.'

Which one controls pan speed? This:

[HookView Config]
Speed=nn ?

If so, a setting of 50 makes a lot of difference.

My ViewSet is still at 51, even after playing all weekend. I don't think it has anything to do with snap views. As NorrisMcWhirter posted, snap speed is here:

[HookView Config]
AzimutSpeed=0.1
TangageSpeed=0.1
LenSpeed=1.0
MinLen=1.0
DefaultLen=20.0
MaxLen=3000.0
Speed=10 <------SNAP SPEED

I found this on the Warbirds Of Prey Forum

[game] In game settings
Arcade=0 when at 1 changes display to show balloon speech from aircraft and arrow bullet strikes etc. Can be 1 or 0
HighGore=0 when at 1 changes display to show gore effects on a limited number of planes Can be 1 or 0
mapPadX=0.6689453 mapPadX and mapPadY are position coordinates for the inflight map, they're nothing to do with padlock. The are a measure in fractions of full screen width from left of screen (mapPadX) and height from the top of the screen (mapPadY) for the top left corner of the map.
mapPadY=-0.046875
viewSet=32 Snap view -Even number. Pan view Odd number.
Intro=0 when at 1 runs intro movie at game launch
NoSubTitles=0 (Subtitles for pilots' voices; 1 = none, 0 = all) At top of screen
SubTitlesLines=3 Number of lines for sub-titles
NoChatter=0 (Radio chatter; 1 = none, 0 = all) To hear pilots voices
NoHudLog=0 HUD text messages and warnings; 1 = none, 0 = all At side of screen
NoLensFlare=0 (Lens flare effects; 1 = none, 0 = all
iconTypes=3
allows user to change what is displayed in icons when enabled these are available from key bind in control section.

Maybe it will help

Ok, I guess it has something to do with the snap\pan views. I got my 51 setting to change to 50 when I hit the 'Toggle snap\pan view' command. I always use the Pan view, so that's why mine was an odd number.

Why mine is in the 50's and someone else's is in the 30's I don't know. It may be related to your 'Speed' setting, which was mentioned earlier.

Sorry, I must have been a bit tired whn writing my first reply. I guess my 190 bar comment wasn't that funny either..

Numbers ranges from 32 to 51. Even numbers= pan, odd= snap, yes.

I just noticed that if I exit the game while in gunsight view/shift+F1 the number is 50, and 48 if I exit the game in normal view.

Some of my backup conf.ini files shows 32 and 42..doesn't seem to have anything do with the FOV settings.
