update for people that are "new" to watching movies. You will probably need the divx or/and XviD codecs to watch this. Im not sure which and you might need both.

"non-slanderous"...LOL...with that disclaimer, I HAD to check it out knowing I'd see some good flying, good shooting and lots of action.

Nice one GK. Any questions about the devastating power of the MK108 is answered here and shows that most who complain need to work on thier gunnery skills. Nice music as well. I think its better then your first.

Long live the "Butcherbird" and the few who really know how to fly her.

lol nice!!

To the guy who asked about gunnery:
When Im scanning the skies I use the zoomed out mode. You get better visibility. Some times its just not convienent to switch. Also I think it was hartmann that said, "i dont fire until the enemy fills my gunsight." i took his advice and it seems to work, and is easier to do with zoomed out mode. When im not at point blank range i use a different zoom though.

Someone else asked me on hyperlobby how I made that vertical bnz on the p51 chasing the fw over the city. If you couldn't tell I applied full left rudder so I could see out of the right window and line up the shot.
I applied full left rudder on a couple high deflection shots on spits as well.

Indeed I am not as impressed by this, compared to your Mustang video. If I have a ping as low as you have, I think I can be half as good as you http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Now my target just wrap around my gunsight http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

One thing I found is that you mastered the defenise move such as barrel roll and scirors really really really well. I think it is the number one reason why you can rack up kill so quickly... You can just open you six to somebody and then barrel-roll him to your front... Ok, on a FW, I can believe that, but on a Mustang too? I think I need to head back to the flight school to learn again, I am so noob http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Obviously, http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif With that I doubt I can explain it either in text.

I'm sure he does mean well as most of us all do.

I'll give him this much though, at least he is a real pilot online. Unlike so many other smack talkers, through the years.

I should set up a controlled atmosphere 1v1 for him to show off his skills. I'd go against him once anyways, just to show I'm a good sport not a pilot http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif The just keep it all in order so the others can have a wack at him. I've got the mission made already.

Yes I am using track ir. It makes scissors and point blank deflection shots so much easier. Although I know some people who use mini sticks for viewing and can do the same thing.

I used to use a hatswitch but I used 2 of them and when used at the same time, it gave me additional views.

Franzen
01-30-2005, 03:05 PM
Yes GK, I`ve done the 2 hat thing too but to be honest I haven`t found the right stick for that. I use the 3D Gold and the X45 throttle. I never use the X45 stick cause it`s too small for my hands. The hat on the 3D is ok but has a very short lifespan. After watching your movie I`m sure I could improve my game more with the TrackIR. Was it hard to get used to?

Fritz Franzen

Yes it takes a few weeks to get used to. And you must have a good profile. The biggest problem with tir from the beginning is that it is hard to keep the gunsight "centered". This can be fixed though if you create a "deadzone." Also make sure you check "tir enhanced." A lot of people hate tir because they dont set it up properly.

Also if you are really hardcore, Id get CH stuff and rudder pedals. Twist rudder throws off your aim because you sometimes twist it inadvertantly.

Nice,

Pity you only used 108's, or at least most of the time, I'd rather see the same with a FW and it's 20's only. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

GK is a goodpilot be sure, ive flown head to head with him ....both in 109s hes handles his plane very well........it ended up as a draw as my hat-switch didnt want to work. By the way GK ive got my hat workin again...ill be happy to give you a controlled 1 0n 1 again!

nice vid GK... i've had trackir since May 2004, but still i am not used to it.. i see it fits to you like mk108 in fw190 a-8 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Other things is.. i seriously hate, that i have to use mk108 in A-8 as well (because mg151/20 is kinda crappy), good flying but I'd wish you'd fly without the Sturmblock configuration as well http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

WEll, since trackir v 4.0 i haven't been able to disable trackir.. What i mean is, it works fine if i hit keyboard, but when i have tried to map in on joystick (where i'd want it), it does not work http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

ANyone else have similar problem with Tir version 4.xx ?

Xses_08
01-31-2005, 08:54 AM
Im not sure if the situation has been changed with newer versions, but im pretty sure you are not able to bind the TIR controls to joystick buttons.

To achieve this, you can use your Joystick profile software to emulate for example F12. This will center your TIR.

Some profiling software still wont accept this, and also for my fellow MSFFB friends without the MS Sidwinder software installed, I came across this software about a year or so ago.

http://www.deinmeister.de/jct_e.htm

This works fine in binding keystrokes to joystick buttons. Allows me to have my TIR center button on my stick, not on my keyboard so I do not have to look for the button.

notgoodknight
01-31-2005, 01:02 PM
roadczar. it plays on any media player as long as you have the divx (www.divx.com (http://www.divx.com)) codec installed on your computer.

I knew people jab my ribs about the mk108s, however their destructive power is just too awesome not to be included in a film http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
That is not to say that all of the kills in the video used mk108. Almost half of them did not.

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new ACE (goodknight), conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all ACES are created equal.

Now we are engaged in a great ONLINE war, testing whether that ACE, or any ACE so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great SERVER (warclouds/greatergreen) of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that SERVER (check stats), as a final resting place for those who here gave their VIRTUAL lives that that ACE (GK) might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate -- we can not consecrate -- we can not hallow -- this MOVIE (BUTCHERED). The brave ACES, living and dead, who struggled IN THE MOVIE, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what GOODKNIGHT did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us -- that from these honored ACES we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion -- that we here highly resolve that these ACES shall not have died in vain -- that this nation, under GOODKNIGHT, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that ACE of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

All hail the "ACE OF THE PEOPLE".
(in other words *bump*)

Please note that this is not a bragging film. It is for the peoples enjoyment and instruction.

If I remember correctly Hitler used Himmler to drum up fake stories about ancient Aryan Germanic cultures. Part of the rouse was that the high members of the NDSAP were descendants of these Teutonic knights destined to lead the Fatherland to greatness...

GK (Justin is it?) -

Quick question. What convergenace are you using for your guns in the A9? I'm decent at snapshots in other planes and can do it with the inner guns of the A9 but the cannons are a different story.

Thanks!
