If I understand correctly PF is avialable in the UK and I'm thinking of ordering the UK version (because I hate to wait).

Just want to make sure the UK version is as good as th US one.

The difference between the US version and the UK version is one "S", and one "K".

Also, since neither country speaks English anymore, it's a toss up as to which country's populace will read less of the instruction manual.

Smart @ss remarks aside what's a good site to order things from the UK?

Also how much is 54.99 in US currency?

About $40.00

I think the UK version is the same except maybe your beer tastes better when you're playing the game!

I can live w/ that, now I need to find a site that ships PF from the UK to the US.

Not sure Shrap.... the online retailers I usually buy from only ship to UK/Western Europe. Try these guys:

Btw, I'm not hiring LuckyBoy1 to do my currency transfers http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Happy hunting, and in case you find one, post the link here... as you are not the only person desperate enough to go ordering PF from europe.

No, I'm not talking about me, I'm german - citizen of the FIRST european country to get PF.

Are you saying 40 is incorrect? If so what is the correct number?

If you order it from England, the only thing different will be the box art. Contents will be the same. If you order elsewhere from Western Europe you'll also get a non-English manual, but the disk contents will be the same.

If you order from Russia however it'll all be in Russian. I've myself had problems even running an installer on a Russian version of FB on my non-Russian Windows version, but I really don't know if the same will be the case. In other words, don't get the Russian version for anything other than a completely different cool box art:

54 is like loadsamoney. PF is going for around 25-30 here and some folks are getting it for 17.99 from the Channel Islands. Maybe the difference is ICBM uber postage option you must have ticked?

Shrap,

You could try Amazon UK that may have export restrictions but I'm not sure.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002WPQLO/qid=1098193931/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/026-2790225-8774055

Or E-bay from Germany

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=21935&item=5130908976&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

The US version is in a box like this

http://www.navalwarfare.org/~content/media/pacificfighters.jpg

UK version is more of a flat cheapo DVD type plastic box http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. All that's needed to fit a manual that says:

Open box, put CD in, do the usualy install stuff and play the game.
Help Oleg Madox only 1 a month..

Then there's the Spanish version which is always late, runs better after midnight, includes snacks in the box, and has a legend that reads: "Only playable by handsome guys" in the cover.

Chuck tried to run it but the discs just self-destroyed. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

Hey Dux, I was in Spain last month. What is the story with those crappy little cars full of old guys and dogs that only go 40 kph in a 90 kph zone? They drove me absolutely crazy. And how do they know to pull out in front of you when there's no opportunity to overtake for another 30 km? AAAAAAaaargghhh.

It´s got a manual but as the games get better the manuals get smaler. Compare it to the Falcon 3.0 from 1991.

They're paid by Spanish Tourism & Transport Ministry to support tourism. They are really stunt drivers who wait in special parkings all along the road until a guy with the look of a foreigner passes by. Then they overtake you in their small cars -in fact they're technological marvels- and force you to watch carefully and slowly our wonderful landscapes, and maybe spend the night in one of our comfortable and pintoresque country hotels.

They are thinking of another strategy: the tireless English-speaking granny. She sits by your side in the bus, and talk and talk of the beauties of Spain until your brain is washed and enters in a state of sangria-bound-ecstasy.
