Are you sure you know what a halberd is?

I've never seen a brute carry anything more than claymores and Axes, its the seekers that carry spears and halberds.

only seekers should have halberds, they're like spears with an axe-like attachment

*googles halberds*

Ah, you are correct, sir/ma'm. Some of the axes do look like halberds to me. Perhaps I need an eye check. >_>

That's SIR. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

And, to be honest, i didnt notice there was even halberds in the game till i circled the camera in the wrong direction and noticed the axe on the end of it.

PS: Try countering a brute, whos using a axe or claymore, with a spear or halberd. Epic counter kill.

well if you say they're there I'll check again (a location would be nice) and that counter kill is wicked. i love keeping the broken end but spear vs spear counter kill is pure art to me (i really wanna see it done with halberds though ,wah!)

I think so, but they're a lot more rare than regular spears.

I have forgotten the name of the guys who carry the spears but, they do carry halberds as well. Dorido is right about long vs. long, it is truly amazing to watch Ezio's counter technique. The Ubi team on the battle system had an eye for battle in those days.

I've seen them, only the seekers carry them. but not even halberds can withstand the power of the broom!

From my experience, halberd-wielding seekers can only be found in the party district of Venice, and in the final run before the last assassination target.

It looks better, but I'm pretty sure it has the same stats as a spear.

I see them all the time in Venice, check the Palazzo Ducale (Doge's Palace) in the San Marco District. Usually there is a seeker carrying one by the fast travel station there. If not he is carrying a spear/pike and my bad, but there should be one in that area.

How do they even know that?

The Piggyback Official Guide lists them as follows:

- Spear - Damage 3 - Speed 5 - Deflect 3

Halberd - Damage 4 - Speed 3 - Deflect 4

i think its based on weakened state, meaning that although lower health tires the guards faster, they still tire from the general malaise of combat (ex deflecting and dodging) throwing sand also "weakens" them...people really need to carry sand in there pocket for protection http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
