Anyone going to be up at the big CCAF airshow in Midland TX the 37-28th? They're going to have a bf-109 and a bf-108 this year. Hopefully the p-39 will be there again and they'll be able to get it off the ground. I'm hoping the rata will be there again now that I know what it is. It's the best $15 you'll spend if anyone can make it.

I went in 1998 or 99. Best 10000km road trip I ever took-(roundtrip). I would love to go this year but it's just a tad far.

For those of us not going, we request heaps of pics from those of you who are.

Thanks

It's only funny til someone loses an eye....then it's hilarious

I'm in san antonio, about a 6 hour drive. They also have a smaller show in san marcos in nov, but nothing nearly as great as the midland show. -jim-

No, I'll bring my portable chairs. We were so close last time I could've hit the planes with a rock as they went by. Don't forget to wear your "I'm a Il-2 geek" button. Seriously, if you see a tall gangly guy in glasses with an equally tall, gangly teen ager in glasses asking the pilot roll-rate question, that'll be me. Say hi. -jim-

Sure am thinking about heading out there! I live just west of Galveston and if i can get off from the phone company here I might be able to swing it.There is another airshow coming up in Houston at Ellington AFB in October I think that I know I will be at. You guys be sure and get plenty of pics to post so those that can't make it can drool over!!

.....I'm in Lubbock also...BTW There will be an airshow this weekend in Abilene,(TX) with supposedly a good warbird turnout. Many of these birds will be headed over to Midland for the CAF show on the 27th and 28th.

Looks like a great show, but too far for me. We used to have air shows like this around here in Reading, PA at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum. Now it's mostly just disappointments and no-shows every June. I know--whine, whine, whine! Lol.

Take LOTS of pics if you go and post them!

I used to belong to the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum before I moved out west and helped work on the Custer Channel Wing and the Northrop P-61B "Black Widow". Great people and a lot of fun.
