I like unlimited ammo from time to time, but there has to be some kind of limiter for instance a "barrel Overheat" if guns are fired for more then 3 seconds and wont be able to fire until they cool down..say another 3 seconds. at least guys would still have to aim to hit an aircraft instead of lagging up the game firing nonstop...

I know you'll take this the wrong way, but here goes anyway.

You want an arcade aid to be more realistic? Does this make sense?

I think 3 seconds would be very short. If machineguns/cannons could only fire for 3 seconds then we would all be in trouble.

thats a really good idea, i use unlimited ammo all the time even though I fire as though it were limited, I normally fire short 1 or 2 second bursts, that lovely realistic gun flash makes a longer burst impractical./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Tedious unoriginal wooly philoshophical statement the pith of which is lost in repetition.

It's more fun with limited ammo.
Sometimes unlim ammo, can become quite a pain, especialy if you try bombers, cuz when you get hit yu'l sometimes wish you could crash-land, but you simly can't.....
I did the mistake of playing a Il2 campaign in th e orig Il2 with unlim ammo...,. I'l never forgive to myself.
Now I started a Il2 campaign in FRb, with real settings, and usualy I get back home with plenty of ammo unwasted.

A 'good' landing is one from which you can walk away. A 'great'
landing is one after which they can use the plane again<center>
